I ate a few too many potato chips at my son's baseball game last night and was feeling guilty so I punished myself at the gym this morning. Did a 15-minute warmup on the elliptical to get the blood flowing, followed by my new PB on the stair bastard - 211 flights in 30 minutes. Then I finished it with leg day. Total workout time was 1 hour 35 minutes, nearly 1,200 calories burned, and max heart rate got up to 170.

I have found the more "in shape" I get, the harder I have to work to get my HR up.

Not every workout is going to be your best and some days you just don't have it - especially when recovering from an illness. The important part is that you went!!

So I think I changed my fav day to back! I used to freaking despise it, it never felt natural. Now I'm going lighter and slower and getting a very productive squeeze.

Put a bandaid and put on 2 pairs of socks and Got 2 miles in today. 1 1/2 mile run at 8:30 pace and a half mile slow walk. Blister is no better or worse than yesterday.

Sometimes you just have to push yourself (within reasonable limits).

Diet has been on point all week. No breakfast. Small lunch with a venison stick, cup of cottage cheese, and almonds. Dinner has been venison sausage with grilled veggies Monday-Wednesday. Asian style Cauliflower fried rice with shrimp today/tomorrow.

Damn, reading through this makes me feel like a lazy arse haha. I need to get outa my current mindset and back to the gym, I drink too many beers and eat whatever. I’m not outa shape, but I’m not in the shape I was earlier in life. I used to eat clean 24/7 and workout hard 3-4x a week. Now I just bust my arse at work and come home and slack off haha. Im 6’1” and hanging around 180-185lbs. Im planning to start back at the gym this weekend. Once I go I’ll get the energy for it again, it feels good to feel good.

I put moleskin on the inside of my 1600 Lacrosses once the heels got ripped out. Great stuff.

Walked and ran 3 miles with about 10 "sprints" between 80 and 150 yds worked in...jumped my heart up to about level 3 of 5. Felt good.

Ordered these to try since the backs of my generic Nikes are gone. Try them on see how they feel. Almost ordered the ones you got Brett but the GF suggested I try a few from Amazon first because of their good return policy.

Great idea getting two pair. I actually got a pair of Ghost 14s as my second pair of running shoes. Lightweight and very comfortable.

I saw a friend yesterday I had not seen in a while, he asked me if I just got out of a concentration camp. Nope I am just a 57 year old guy that refuses to get fat.

Well I'm on IR for a while. Had surgery to repair my septum and I'm restricted for a couple weeks or more. It's day 2 post op and it still sucks. Supposed to be kind of a long road, but I haven't been able to breathe through my nose for more than 20 years. What's a couple more weeks. Anyhow, yall are killin it. Carry on

I'll be following along with your recovery. I've broken my nose and septum a couple times. I was boxing once and got hit so hard my septum actually tore in half on the lower portion. My nose is def obstructed.

Yeah I can't remember how many times mine was busted, but it was 90 percent blocked on the right. Supposedly, I'll be amazed at how well I'll be able to breathe once healed, but for now it just sucks all around. No bruising, just a good bit of swelling and minor pain and discomfort
