It's crazy how addictive it gets once you get in shape. Always wanting to push your self and set new goals to beat. Keep pushing man!

I probably walk a couple miles a day at the job. Could easily make it 4 to 5

I actually don’t enjoy it much at all. I’ll likely only try to go for sub 7 minute a time or 2 every few weeks. My actual goal was 7 and didn’t think anything passed that. Might just leave it at that and if I hit under I hit under. I’m sure if I stick to a mile+ every day I’ll be able to hit 6:30 maybeee.

Find something you like. Might be as simple as getting a heavy bag and hitting it for 15 minutes, 3x a week. Similar calories burned as running a mile 3 x a week. Put on some music and go for it.

My base shape is finally back about to where I was in the summer of 2020 before those pesky hernia surgeries. Even when tired I can still go out and run 2 to 3 miles at a decent pace and then do strength training. I'd love to hit 230lbs by the end of the month but more likely the first week of June.

So on meds for two weeks now. Only improvement I can sleep . Other than that, still in constant pain. Now mind you For 30 years I've lived with daily pain. That's just life after years of injuries and a connective tissue issues I've always had. This is vocal pain going up and down stairs . So hoping the pills will kick in better the next two weeks. I have lost the over night 8 #'s I gained when this first started so inflammation may be getting a bit better.

I just spent three days in Northern WI with the boys trying to catch smallies and eating/drinking way too much. Ended up gaining 3.1 lbs over the weekend bender, but got back on the horse this morning and knocked out a solid workout.

Back to the grind! Play time is over.

    Ride #10

    28 miles
    Around 2 hours 45 minutes
    9.8 mph average

Got some great miles in on this ride with alot more hills and climbing. With more climbing, comes slower ride. Wasn't feeling as good as last week, but finished strong with no cramps. I'm trying something different and eating more while riding. I have doubled the amount of calories and see a positive gain in power and endurance. I will continue to see how much calories I can eat before it's to much.

I do have to say I still feel great. I took a fall last Saturday helping my neighbor a landscape brick loose and I fell about 4' and handed hard on my front and my chin and nose hit hard. My neighbors checked with my wife the next day, nope no pain I have my wood head no pain felt back again, because I do not have constant low grade pain.

Changed my route for what I thought was going to be 2 miles for sure. Forgot to check the app until I got inside... 1.86. We go again tomorrow.

Hit my new PB on the stairs yesterday - 201 floors in 30 minutes. And I got a good 30 minute spin class done this morning. I've dropped the 3 lbs I put on last weekend but still have 10 to go to get where I want to be.

Hopefully, I can sneak in some workouts this weekend in between baseball games and yard work, then I'm going to head up to Northern MI for a couple of days next week to relax with the family and fish with the kids. It's going to be hot so we may even sneak in a little bit of swimming.

    Hell yeah man, don't stop.

Side note my family is hiking devils hole in Niagara falls Saturday. It's over 400 stairs to a whirlpool then back up. Trying it with new gear for Australia to check for blisters and such. 47 days until the trip. Time to get serious

I tried to beat 201 today and ended up tying it. So close!

Followed the stairs with a decent leg workout. Weighted step-ups with leg raise at the top, leg curls, leg press, back extensions, calf raises and finished off with some core work - leg raises and cable crunches.

    Happy Friday, everyone!

Any of you guys use Strava?

I just got the free app and going to try it out. Just about everyone I bike with uses it. Also seem a lot of people use it for hiking, cycling, running also.

Decided to jog to the gym today. It's 4 miles and admittedly it was closer to a fast walk.
Nothing motivates me harder than a "up" day on the scale
