It's like the dilemma of Islam...72 virgins? Wouldn't 'experienced' women be more attractive?

9 days out from the pt test. Hit a 6:40 mile today followed by some good quarter mile "sprints". First time I've been below 230 lbs since last December. 229 today...down from low 240's 3 months ago.

Damn, bro. A 6:40 mile at +40? Good on you!
I made the 1.5 in just under 14:20 today, which was just passing. Everything under that from here on is just gravy to rub into the plebes faces. Hoping to be under a 13 by the end of the month.

Scaled in at 210 this AM after a pot of coffee. That's a solid 8# down after less than a month. Just hitting my stride so i should be at 10# down or more per month for next 3 months (that's with adding muscle.)

203# today on a doctor's scale :) - after running 1.5mi @ 14.18. I pass the PT test @ 41yoa after less than 2 mos of working out after 3 years of doing literally nothing but 12oz curls.

Sometimes the best workouts are the easiest. Go (mostly) paleo; eat no meat you don't shoot, hook, or wring the neck of; lose the weekday beers; run at least a mile every other day; do a minimum of 25% of your weight in pushups and situps 2x every other day; max those out every other day. I've already dropped 15# and cut over 2 minutes off my mile and a half in less than 2 months. Bumped my pushups max by another 50%.

I'm not knocking any fancy classes or equipment. They work also. But you don't NEED it. Your body can do the work.

I need to get my $h1t together. Knee and foot seem to be ready to run a little, just need to get after it.

First day back... Almost 2 mile jog. Very proud of that as I have never been a long distance runner.

My dog (70# lab) slammed me into a mailbox yesterday while out for a morning (6 mile) walk, trying to chase a rabbit. Felt like somebody jumped on my chest and some lovely cuts/scrapes from the damn aluminum mailbox and 4x4 frame. That sucked.

Today I doubled down on the morning walk adding in ~250 pushups and air squats.

I documented some of my progress in the last thread about my weight loss using Keto (230ish to 183 at lowest point) in 2015.

I started off this month at 200. Today is day 2 of diet and exercise. I’m sore. And hungry. Lol.

I did 2.5 miles last week and 2 yesterday. Might try for 3 today. It gets easier as you go (at least I keep telling myself that).

My knee can't handle treadmills. Boy did it hurt all of yesterday. It's the lower knee cap that is sore which is weird and I never have a problem with it ever unless I run for 1+ mile. Had to use the elliptical today because of the soreness.

Start stretching and strengthening your hamstrings. A lot of the time when your hamstrings are weak, a person's knees roll inwards during running and cause that lower knee pain.

Thanks brother. I figure if I can get at least 50 pushups in a row and 50 situps in a minute, plus a decent mile and a half time I won't look like an old chump. Haha.

Did 2 miles today for the 3rd day in a row. Been keeping my carbs below 70ish as well. Leave for the beach on July 15th!

Just completed my last workout prior to Mondays pt test. Spending the next few days walking, stretching, and getting the swelling out of my joints.

I hope it's not 100 degrees when I run. Lol.
