This morning was one of those mornings where every fiber of my being wanted to turn the alarm off and go back to sleep. Pouring rain, super windy, dreary, and just a dismal morning. But I forced myself to get up and get to the gym and then punished myself on the stair master for thinking I was going to skip a workout. I did a pretty solid 30 minutes/155 flights of stairs and then followed it up with a quick push day - dips, chest flies, skull crushers, incline bench, tricep pulldowns and then a couple planks for the core before I hit the showers.

Hoping this rain subsides by tonight for my evening hike.

Thing of it is, if you don't go you will regret it. But if you go, especially when you don't want to, you'll never regret that. Way to tough it out!

This is health but not fitness, had a yearly exam.
Like you guys need prostate exams us woman need breast. Now this is usually a simple thing, imaging in and out. I even got there a half hour early at 7:45 this morning. They took me in early and was back in the car 10 mins before my appointment time.
Out shopping still in the local town, when my phone rang......We need you to come back and have more imaging something doesn't look right.
Well that's Not good ! My first thought was " That F ing vaccine!" I go back and they take me right in again...then I had to sit in my little gown an hour quietly awaiting the news. Before I go further alls AOK.
I tell you guys this because for those of you with long time GF, wives that have had to make that sit, be very, very nice to them a few days. They/we may shrug it off when the news is good, but that lonely sit after the second round screws with your brain. Especially if they know someone who's second round didn't.
Now to the results they were messed up because I lost weight of all things lossing weight changed the density of my tissue and they could no longer Make a comparison when having a hick up in the images.

I'm glad things worked out for you. I'm sure it gave a scare for a moment though.

It did only because of the vaccine. I've been through this in the past and one landed me in surgery having a tumor they thought was way smaller than the softball it turned out to be. That said thankfully benign. When I first sat down there was another woman in my age range that had also been called back. I kept her chatting while we waited and in a couple of minutes they came and got her. I think she was pleased for the distraction because she went out of her way to comeback to reassure me with her good news.

    75 Hard - Day 28 update

I'm in a groove and feeling great. Initially, this felt like more of a physical challenge, but I'm really starting to see the mental side of it now. I can see where someone could slip up and forget to do one of the day's requirements simply because you've done them every day for a month, and they start to all blend together. Did I get that last 12 ounces of water I needed? Did I read my book today, or was that yesterday? I'm not even close to wanting to quit, but I can see an accidental slip-up if you get too complacent. This challenge is more about staying focused and disciplined than it is about killing yourself with workouts.

Today I hit the 10 lbs lost mark, which keeps me on pace for 22-25 lbs by the end of the challenge. How much better you feel after just 10 lbs dropped is amazing. My knees and joints are already thanking me.

It's been good watching your progress Justin
I've been down sick too many days and just a week of that has made a huge change. My weights stayed the same because my diet hasn't changed. That said my clothes are definitely not wearing the same. Much tighter in the pants and arms. What a difference a week makes. Also being out and active yesterday wiped me out.
So be it muscle relaxing/lack of tone or whole body inflamation due to being ill. I have to push through the tiredness to get through this.
It is so easy to back slide when your regular routine is interrupted. Weather will keep me in a bit, so I have to get back on the bike and the suspension gym with the exercise ball sit ups and total gym leg workout. Has to be, up early hour done, out of way deal.
Thanks for a kick start inspiration

I've really let my diet and workouts go the last few weeks. Vacation, bachelor party, wedding, and ice fishing trips really mess up my routine. Changing that next week. At least the diet and cardio part. When we were in AZ for vacation I dove into the pool and smacked the palm/heel of my hand on the bottom... This was almost 3 weeks ago and it's still sore. It's hard to bend my fingers certain ways and tough to carry heavy things sometimes. Think it's a bone bruise that just takes time.

Have to ask,did you have the hand checked out? Asking because when I had the amputation surgery after dog bit part of my pinky off the tendons were the main issue. The tendon reconstruction and stretching they did effected my entire hand. To that could you have damaged or tore a tendon when you hit? That may require more than rest and definitely rehab. Just a thought so things don't get worse.

    Dear email spammers,

If you think a $1000 Macdonald's gift card is going to get me, you don't know me at all. Was it ever real for you? Cause, it felt real for the two seconds it took for me to ignore your offer and report your scam.

I do enjoy a Shamrock shake every now and again. Mix it half and half with chocolate and you're in business.

So, if you're ever in the Southeast, you'll want to find a fast food restaurant called cookout...not exactly a shamrock shake, but I'm sure something on the shake menu that you'd like.[IMG]

Well I am excited for next week therapy, going into more intensive core strength and balance. Right now I could not pass a field sobriety test standing on 1 leg.

I've been purposefully slow running. Read articles on how to build endurance and simply slow running for longer periods of time really seems to help. I have always been a guy who runs for time but Im not 30 anymore. So a couple of days ago I slow ran for 30 minutes but picked it up for a few minutes. I ran at maybe an 8min mile pace and was pleasantly surprised I wasn't the least out of breath and my legs were just fine. Encouraging.
