It's a whopping 11 degrees and we got another 11/2 " of snow. Waiting for winds to calm then going out to shovel again. NO snow due for next week. I want to get it cleaned before packing and more ice happens.
This coming week will be my start of cutting. I have blk locust logs to cut and de-bark for posts. Then dead and dying beech and ash that are a danger to us at trails.wood peckers have weakened several and need to be put down before they are made weaker and more dangerous. Due to being dropped across trails as they lean, My work outs will be hualing tops and logs off trails and to piles. It's going to be a little to cold to be sloshing around streams hauling debris from them until end of week. My feet and hands were a tad sore by the time I hiked home soaking wet

Well since I'm living the snowbird life, I had to go join a local gym where I'm staying. I joined a planet fitness. All I gotta say is wow! That place has more equipment than I've ever seen in one place. I spent two hours there this morning and was dripping wet when I came out, so it must've been a good one.

I wish I had one to one of those. Daughter has one near her, big and cheap. The gym I went to is also a rehab business. They decided they didn't like the elderly on SS benefits taking up equipment and ended allowing it by requiring fees instead. I took a burn to that besides I'm not on SS and it was over 100.00 per month for me. I'm looking into a new YMCA in town I grocery shop. Just for a better leg work out.

Wow that wasn't bad at all, even got the mail box done and the plow had come up cleaning previous road side deposits it had made. Then dumping right infront of the mail box+ 10ft either side. Why I shovel about 40 ft either side of it so wasn't too bad.

Well, since I'm a fat lazy piece of crap, 2 of my friends and I decided to do 75 Hard. I feel like when I don't have something to work towards is where I really start to slip. I've been working out 3-4 days a week pretty consistently for years, but my eating is awful. I put on 20 lbs simply due to a bad diet. Time to start fixing that.

Today is Day 1, and I'm ready to get after it. I already did my indoor workout for the day and have 1/4th of my water consumption down. I plan on reading my ten pages during lunch break every day and then doing my outdoor workout at night. Tonight I have baseball practice from 5:30-7:00 then I have to pick up my daughter from gymnastics at 7:30, which means I likely won't get started until around 8. I plan to do a weighted ruck and see how that goes. I'm going to throw a 30 lb kettlebell in my X2 pack and get after it.

I'll check in weekly or so and let everyone know how it's going.

Well you got the physical activity side down. I know it's tough to get the appetite under control but that's always the biggest piece of the puzzle. Good luck!

Eating a bunch of whoopie pies out in Lancaster last week certainly didn't help anything.

Day 1 of 75 Hard is complete, and it wasn't too terribly bad. My only mistake was incorporating a little bit too much weight into yesterday's squat sets. My legs are fried, but I'll just have to deal with it. I ended up throwing a 30 lb kettlebell into my pack and going on a 2.25 mile hike last night for my outdoor workout.

Got up this morning and did a 15 minute HIIT session followed by 30 minutes on the stationary bike. The plan is to do another weighted ruck tonight and tomorrow with temps in the single digits or possibly below zero by the time I get out there. This weekend it warms up a bit and hopefully my legs are in better shape so I can incorporate a few other things.

My diet isn't too crazy - just trying to keep calories in the 2,000 - 2,2200 range and abiding by my four rules - no fast food, no fried food, no sweets, no pasta. Burning 1,000 to 1,500 calories a day with workouts is going to put me in about a 1,000-calorie/day deficit.

    So far, so good.

That's awesome! Just one thing that kept me honest. I wouldn't splurge on calories just because I knew I worked out because I didn't want to undo all that hard work. My mantra was: you can't out exercise your diet!

I've often heard the phrase "You can't outrun your diet", which I'm living proof of.

I recently started my weight training again. At 28 my metabolism has slowed down enough to where I gain fat a lot easier than I used to. Lol. I was in excellent shape 18 -23 and I miss it. I do have 2x broken bones in my right arm to thank for my lack of consistency the past 4 years but enough is enough. Time to put in the work. It's funny how fast my mind switched back to being conscious of what I eat. A proper sleep schedule is what I suck at most. Hence me being on here at 1:30 am with chest and tris tomorrow. Btw an average weight session for me is about 1 hour. 2 min rest between seats. All at home, I actually built my own bench, sqat / barbell rack and pulley / lat pulldown tricep push down machine:)

Oh my -2 and dropping wind chill is -12. Sun's up but winds are getting worse after howling all night. Dropping 2" of snow. I'm thinking really hard on whether I can muster up the will to shovel today. May e just enough to avoid packing.
Lower back has been a issue so today I start my exercise ball sit ups. A pleasure to do. I use to do 100 with a 10# weight on my chest every other day. Will eventually get back to 100.
