So the latest is, that Allen Iverson is broke. Out of money. Owes a jewelry store 875,000 and is playing soccer or something for $20,000 a game. His groupies are all running for cover and getting out. The man, well he was a grown up, earned over $200,000,000 in his 10 or 12 years in the NBA. So a couple years out of the NBA and he's broke. Maybe he should have gone to "PRACTICE".... not the game... but "PRACTICE. LOL What a fool. I don't feel pity or shame for him or anything other than...."You fool". Don't tell me it was his upbringing or enviornment or the slavery raciest bit. He's just a fool that will self destruct even further in the not to distance future probably. He would never listen to anyone except... his groupie parasites who are now heading for cover. FOOL. Look it up in the dictionary... I'm guessing his picture should be there.

It's funny how people who go out and get all this money thrown at them are broke within a few years of retirement. No sympathy at all for them. Iverson wasn't the first and he won't be the last.

The average is that within 5 years of a player retiring from NBA or NFL the player will go broke. I know several NFL Players and one of his team mates was sued by his Mother-In-Law for $4 Million dollars. as the law goes "Changing the Lifestyle in which she's accustom. So there's many factors that render money from professional athletes.

I've even had some close contact with Micheal Vick before the dog fighting, and I knew from several things that didn't make notoriety that he was heading for trouble.

You even have Mark Brunell that filed for bankruptcy he lost over $70 Million Dollars, A Pittsburgh Steeler Player that started homes for needy families was sued, by a 3 families because he didn't have their house built in time.

RJ Soward for the Jacksonville Jaguars which turned out to be a bust and even if i wrote some of things that idiot did would astound you, but he blew threw $10 Million Dollars in up front money and never played 4 games with the Jags. And Couglin didn't want him as a player but was forced to pick him during his tenure with the Jags also this led to his firing.

Even Bernie Madoff took 10-20 NFL players for close to $70 Million. I'm sorry I would have killed him or seriously ****ed him up.

The other statistic that you may over look is that every other year the Super Bowl is played. That a member of that team is sent to prison for 10-20 years. Isn't that kick in the balls.

Hell I was going to write about something similar to your story...There's a girl I work with, I would say woman, but I just say girl that bought a purse that costs $2000.00 I was in shock! I know she have this purse obsession, but damn!!

I guess it's the same for every new Matthews Bow that hit's the market...can't take it with you, but got to have it mentality.

Any way....that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Investopedia explains 'Marginal Propensity To Consume - MPC'

Let's illustrate this with an example. Suppose you receive a bonus with your paycheck, and it's $500 on top of your normal annual earnings. You suddenly have $500 more in income than you did before. If you decide to spend $400 of this marginal increase in income on a new business suit, your marginal propensity to consume will be 0.8 ($400 divided by $500).

Definition of 'Law Of Diminishing Marginal Utility'
A law of economics stating that as a person increases consumption of a product - while keeping consumption of other products constant - there is a decline in the marginal utility that person derives from consuming each additional unit of that product.
    Investopedia Says
Investopedia explains 'Law Of Diminishing Marginal Utility'
This is the premise on which buffet-style restaurants operate. They entice you with "all you can eat," all the while knowing each additional plate of food provides less utility than the one before. And despite their enticement, most people will eat only until the utility they derive from additional food is slightly lower than the original.

For example, say you go to a buffet and the first plate of food you eat is very good. On a scale of ten you would give it a ten. Now your hunger has been somewhat tamed, but you get another full plate of food. Since you're not as hungry, your enjoyment rates at a seven at best. Most people would stop before their utility drops even more, but say you go back to eat a third full plate of food and your utility drops even more to a three. If you kept eating, you would eventually reach a point at which your eating makes you sick, providing dissatisfaction, or 'dis-utility'.

    Like wise no sympathy

If someone finds this topic sexually titillating, then they have bigger issues.

If you meant racist, I think you should just add some sort of disclaimer like this to your signature. I'm not saying you're a racist, but you do make some off color comments. I chalk these comments up to three things...

    1. You're old.
    2. You're from the south.
    3. You like golf.

While those three things don't automatically make you a racist, they do make you suspect.

I don't think I'm racist or said anything that should lead you to that conclusion. Iverson has always been a meat head headed for distruction. Everytime someone mentioned his posse it was suggested "that's the way he was brought up. He had a tough life. He had bad breaks. He was a product of a racist society that beat him down". Some of the Jackpots he got in.... and then got out of by playing the race and poverty card while making millions.

    I'm not from the South.

OLD... me old? I know people who are real old. LOL

Iverson has always spouted off racist comments. That being said, I don't think his idiotic racist mindframe had anything to do with him going broke. He is just a complete moron.

It's such a shame at under 6'0 and a 30ppg guy he may be the most unique talent that NBA has ever witnessed. That being said, he made numerous mistakes along the way in his career and clearly didn't make the wisest of financial decisions.

Loved watching him play and hate that his life has been so misguided that now he's the topic of a belittling thread on hunting website. Though I'm very skeptical, here's hoping he turns it around and gets back on his feet!

Now if you ask me did race played a part in Iverson going broke I would have to say yes. Although going to strip clubs and making it rain $50,000 a night, chartering jets at $3,000 per hour doesn't help you in the scheme of things.

And greedy agents, and crooked accountants, played on his inability to manage his finances and a majority Where White as many more were Black.

The man made bad choices based-upon his experiences and that's what got him where he is today.

It's not like people don't know Racism exists, I see it and hear about it all the time. I've got a friend that applied for this job She has a degree in business, but they gave the job to another girl with no experience and told my friend that she was unqualified. The girl they gave the job too was a cashier at a Deli-Mart.

Also tend to reason the business folded.

When I joined the Navy, I had a passion for Submarines, but my Asvab math Score was low. So I was given a chance after hard work to take the test over. Passing it with he score to reapply for the school. I had a Chief tell me then that Ni@@@@ need to know their place.

So one day when a fire drill was taking place on the ship, I was instructed to get a Peri-jet eductor not from Port or Starboard side but to get one. The chief wrote me up because I got one from Port Side of the ship.

It's a fire drill what came down at my Captain Mast, I was sentenced to 7 days extra duty on the ship which also disqualified me from Submarine School. You have to have an unblemished record to apply.

A few days later The Chief repeated his statement to me. It's things like that could make a person not trust a specific group of people and to not listen to them even if they have good advice. Because everyone knew what I did was right during the drill to save the ship, but they went along with the Chief even if they knew it was wrong and the Captain could have seen through it , but didn't.

What happen to the Chief? I know his wife got a video tape of him in a Okinawa Strip Bar eating bananas in the mail while we were on deployment....Lord knows who sent it.

Since she had power of attorney she sold his vehicles, property, wipe out his account, and high tailed it once the ship got back.

Two wrongs don't make it right, but revenge is a dish best served cold. I still have no sympathy for the choices he made, because in the end of the day we are all adults.

I agree 100% Vito...I think you hit nail right on the head....except for the golf part.

    1. (You're old)....The biggest majority and most extreme racist (I've ever seen) are black guys over age 50.
    2. (You're from the south)....While most black people are racist through out the country, there does seem to be way more in the south. (good catch Vito)
    3. (You like golf)....Blacks and whites both golf here all the time (equally), never noticed a connection between being a racist and golf (here).

Is that 200 million dollars? I am just trying to wrap my mind around paying anyone that much money... to do what? Bounce a ball in his underwear and throw it through a hoop? Losing that much money has nothing to do with age, race, golf or anything else. That's just foolishness but so is paying anyone that much money in the first place.

I don't think the NBA owners writing the checks who make even more are complaining too much.

I guess you're right. It's still numbingly difficult to fathom how anyone can possibly spend that much money on frivolities.
