I have a 3 seasons room, concrete pad right now, not the most level floor, cracks here & there. I plan to make the room more of a lounging/workout room. It will see most use as a passageway from my kitchen to side porch to grill on. Minor moisture issues against the one wall, but I expect to have that remedied. I want something that is durable, but also kind of "warm" to walk on since the room isn't fully heated. What would you put in? I assume the self leveling stuff is a first step before any subfloor is put down?
Rybo, like as mentioned in the other thread, they make a 24" square wood subfloor with the plastic feet on the bottom to keep it off of the concrete. Then you can either put down carpet, maybe the squares that you can easily replace if need be, or some type of vinyl flooring, sheet, tiles or planks. I am partial to the planks that go together like laminate, they are waterproof, wear well and you don't have to glue them down. You can get the Trafficmaster Allure Ultra planks only at Home depot. I would stay away from any type of laminate is there is any chance of moisture in the area !!!
This is the product I recently found that allows the floor to breathe but keeps moisture out. Unlike the DriCore, this doesnt have any wood on top of it so if there ever was a water issue, there would be no wood to rot. They suggest laminate laid directly on top so I would assume the vinyl planks could be done that way as well http://www.cosella-dorken.com/bvf-ca-en/products/foundation_residential/floor/products/fl.php
