A retired professional football player that first played for the Badgers and then was drafted and played for the Packers his entire career. Mark buys an advertisement out in a Packers newspaper section with his own money, to offer a thank you to his fans. It's simple, feel good stuff like this that make Packer fans feel closer to their team than other fans of other teams do. It is evidence piece 1 of 156,789 that exist. For the naysayers that really don't get it..... I present to you the following piece: http://www.jsonline.com/news/wiscon...t-ad-to-thank-his-fans-m33njs2-136907248.html Scroll to the bottom. http://media.jsonline.com/documents/tauscher_ad_page_010812.pdf I would also like to restate my position in this whole thing. I did not, and will not, purchase Packer stock because I have better things to do with my money. However, I understand why a loyal Packer fan would want to do this. I know this will get played down as "no big deal". But it is a nice gesture that you typicaly don't see from players of other teams. What I shake my head at are the outsiders that don't know what they are talking about calling fans that did buy the stock as "stupid". Again, you don't understand.
Sometimes having a discussion with Vito reminds me of this scene.
I still don't get why you'd want to do this. Maybe I'm biased because the folks I know who have are, well, a few apples short of a barrel (excluding Caleb, his barrel's completely empty :D)
Why are you posting things about the Packers. Tebow won today... now that stock is well we all know it's worthless... but right now it's better than paying out REAL money for Packer stock. Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck.
Are people that give money to their athletic department of a college football program “stupid”? Are the people that run the athletic department laughing every time they receive a check?
I wish Packer fans would wear bags over their heads, and not just when they are having sex. I guess the Lions franchise needs to start selling some stock.
I'm from WI and am a Packer fan.......even I think the people who buy the stock are a little off their rocker. Especially if they're from another state.....Ohio included.
This thread was titled "Another example of why people purchase Packer Stock". This assumes there were already reasons in place. I'd love to hear them since I'm unaware of any....
Actually i chose the S&W M&P .40 over the Packers stock. The rough choices in life. But your point is noted.
What was this all about then? http://forums.bowhunting.com/showthread.php?28790-My-ability-to-say-quot-we-quot-is-complete...
I'll try again. Is that Lanse Couche in the picture. He does have some wild outfits .... especially around Mardi Gras time.
Lolz never once did i actually state i purchased anything. Me and Vito were just bored that day i believe...
I'm glad you asked. #1 #2 Lot's here: http://thesportdigest.com/2011/02/o...-the-greatest-franchise-in-all-of-pro-sports/ #3 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...best-franchise-in-sports-bengals-named-worst/ #4 http://www.wpri.org/Reports/Volume8/Vol8no9.pdf #5 #6 http://www.digtriad.com/news/article/205136/204/Say-Cheese-Cowboys-No-Longer-Americas-Team- #7 http://www.packers.com/community/shareholders.html Green Bay Packers, Inc., has been a publicly owned, nonprofit corporation since Aug. 18, 1923, when original articles of incorporation were filed with Wisconsin’s secretary of state. A total of 4,750,937 shares is owned by 112,158 stockholders none of whom receives any dividend on the initial investment. The corporation is governed by a board of directors and a seven member executive committee. One of the more remarkable business stories in American history, the team is kept viable by its shareholders — its unselfish fans. Even more incredible, the Packers have survived during the current era, permeated by free agency and the NFL salary cap. And, thanks in large part to Brown County’s passage of the 2000 Lambeau Field referendum, the club will remain solvent and highly competitive well into the future due to its redeveloped stadium. Fans have come to the team’s financial rescue on several occasions, including four previous stock sales: 1923, 1935, 1950 and 1997. To protect against someone taking control of the team, the articles of incorporation prohibit any person from owning more than 200,000 shares. So this is nothing new. There have been stock sales in 1923, 1935, 1950 ,1997 and now 2011. You guys keep thinking this is just something the front office made up recently.
It was the best picture I could find in a hurry. They will just over look the facts and start posting about that picture being the lowlifes they are. lol Found a better one. Fixed it!
