I am thinking about buying a new hoytt maxxis. However, I have a hoytt turbo hawk now that I really love. I just can't justify having 2 bows. All I do is whitetail hunt. What are some of you guys thoughts on having a second bow?
Nothing wrong with a second, third or even fourth bow! And with it being a Hoyt it just makes it that much better!
A backup bow is always a good thing to have. It really sucks when something happens to your bow and your done hunting for a while if not the whole season.
Oh please. Now ur gonna tell me that hoyts are better than Bear bows ? LOL. I know you guys are just bowhunters, but I am kind of an archery expert, not just a bow hunter. I work in an archery shop, stocking shelves and receiving deliveries, so I overhear a lot of archery experts talking about bows. By the way, I am joking...But I do really like my Bear Strike.
yeah it is! i mean... hoyts are the only backup bow to own..... everyone knows that bears are the last resort, then hoyt for backup... and Bowtech as your main daimy!
I don't want to fuel a debate fire. However, I have owned Bear, Matthews and Hoytt. I love my Hoytt and have nothing bad to say about the matthews. I just am trying to debate on a second bow. Where I live our bow seaseon is just 4 weeks extention to the gun season which starts in Oct and runs through Jan. I love to bow hunt and 3d shoot. My turbo hawk is 8 weeks old and it is awesome I just like the fancier string stop and roller guides the maxxis has. I flyfish and have had around 14 different rods and guns I can not count, so tho say I can get addicted to stuff is an understatement. 18 bows the one gentleman said. WOW. congrats
my second bow is a Mathews Z7 that i got for a great price, only other reason i would've gotten a second bow is for a trip someplace. gonna keep old faitful for a while though
I have been debating the same thing. I just bought a new bow and am having a tough time selling my Diamond Marquis. I think I might just keep it as a backup. It will be good to have a spare bow to bring on hunting trips, or just a bow that you can lend to a friend if they want to try it out.
It's a great idea to have a backup bow. Last weekend I bumped my string with my arrow. When I inspected it everything looked fine. I went out yesterday afternoon after shooting a few practice shoots. When I got in my stand and settled in I looked at my string and noticed a small cut that had started to fray. I was lucky. Got it re-strung today, I will have thursday and friday to re-sight. I won't be able to get back to the woods until Sat. I had a Parker Ultra-lite 31" for a back-up, but my son has claimed it as his own.
