So, shooting a different arrow set up and I am about to pick up BH's for the season. The question is 100gr or 125gr and here is why I ask. My new arrows have a stiffer spine than before 300 vs 340.
Currently with 100 gr point my FOC is 8.62 overall weight is 396 @ 29"
If I got with a 125 gr BH I will have 421 gr overall weight and just over 12 FOC..

Finally the actual question, will the stiffer spine increase penetration enough to forgive the 4% difference in FOC??
Last year my 340 spine set up also carried 8.62 FOC which I found interesting considering the difference in overall weight. I wasn't overly impressed penetration wise with that setup. Only had one good pass through last year out of 3 kills and that shot was a bit far back.

Shooting a Montec BH and KE according to online calcs is 67 if I go 125gr and 63 with 100 gr

If it was me I'd go with the heavy BH.

I think your 421 gn setup is the ideal hunting weight and FOC.

I think the penetration might have more to do with your draw length and draw weight then the actual weight of the arrow. Most people don't actual get the advertised IBO from their bow because there draw length is shorter. What poundage and draw length are you? Also if your killing dear, pass thru is just a bonus.

I will kinda have to disagree with ya. I have a 28 in DL and shoot a 29" arrow at 70lbs and 268 fps. That is more than enough provided the arrow is heavy enough with proper FOC. None of my numbers previously posted have anything to do with IBO speed my numbers are KE numbers are based off of chrono numbers per the specific set ups mentioned above.

And IMO a pass through is not just a "bonus" it provides a better bloodtrail which makes my recoveries easier and faster.

Just did a little comparison shooting and they actually seem to shoot more consistent at longer yardages with the heavier heads, Which makes sense..
Think that makes for an obvious choice

I am glad you got the answer from shooting them both. Good hunting!

I would go to a 28" arrow, the .300 shaft and the 125 grain broadhead. That should tune awesome and fly like a dart.

Yeah I would go 125. And a pass through isn't just a bonus it benefits the hunter greatly
