A little late on getting around to this. As many of you know, my family has owned a cabin near the Au Sable River since 1985. We used to spend a countless hours up there hunting and fishing. As we all got older and our lives got busier, it became harder to make the drive. About 10 years ago we decided to always go up for a few days during the first week of May. A few years back my parents started coming, along with our kids. It is definitely one of my favorite trips of the year. We mostly throw bigger streamers, but we will stop for a decent rising fish. Especially if the fishing has been slow. First morning is spent doing maintenance. The dock needed some long overdue attention. Some worked harder than others. The kids entertained themselves doing the same thing my brothers and I did 25 years ago. We weren't crazy enough to look for shells in 55 degree water though. There were birthdays. The river is lined with endless cedars and pines. We did some fishing.
Looks like a great place to spend a few days. You always have incredible pictures of the fish you catch.
