Animal Rightist Blocks Bow Hunter Harvest 10/29/09 In an example of how activists can hinder law abiding sportsmen, the head of a local animal rights organization recently blocked a Connecticut bow hunter from harvesting a deer he had legally hunted and shot. The incident took place in early October near Redding, Connecticut when the unnamed bow hunter shot a deer and then tracked it to the property of animal rightist Lynn Gorfinkle. After knocking on the door of the Gorfinkle residence and asking permission to claim the deer, the hunter was told unceremoniously to leave the property without it. Mrs. Gorfinkle is the head of the Animal Rights Alliance in Redding and a staunch opponent of hunting. According to press accounts, Mrs. Gorfinkle stated, “If someone's going to eat that deer, I want it to be natural predators.” As of press time, the dead deer, to no one’s surprise, was slowly decomposing in Mrs. Gorfinkle’s yard. Ironically, the actions of Mrs. Gorfinkle may result in the death of another deer. According to the Communications Director of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, which oversees deer hunting in the state, “since the hunter did not recover the deer, he did not need to tag it and it doesn't count toward his bag limit.” http://www.ussportsmen.org/Page.aspx?pid=2188
Same thing happened to twildasin last year. On my way to IL he called me that he just shot the best buck of his life and he watched it go down in the neighboring properties yard. As he was on the phone with me the owner was backing out of his garage so he hung up the phone. Well the neighbor, an animal whacko saw the deer, got out of his car and yelled, don't even think about coming on my property to claim this deer. Tim called the PA Game Comm which in turn called the State Police. The animal whacko met the PAGC and State Trooper at the end of the lane and forbade them from entering his property as well. The buck was never recovered. The landowners rights superseded the rights of Tim to recover his deer or the the PAGC or Trooper from entering to retrieve it either. Sad thing is, it was merely 50 yards off the property that Tim was allowed to hunt.
What a Gorfinkle!!! Come to think about it, I think that's what I'll start calling any and all animal rights idiots from now on...:D The last name is a little different but that last name reminded me of this little diddy by Cheech and Chong... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwS4ZjEryrg
Darn Right !! Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Mrs. GorFINKLE !! I find it ironically amussing that the deer died on her property...Hope she has to smell it for DAYS and is accompanied by horrible nightmares that keep her awake !! How can you be against something that provides food, balances the carrying capacity of land, and is a tradition in EVERY culture ? What a moron. I feel bad for the hunter, but, up hers !!
Hope when the coyotes come to claim it they get ahold of her as well. Let's see how she likes it when she can't go to the mailbox or leave her house!
Since the crazy ***** won't let him have his deer I really hope he does get another one. With any luck it will die just off her property line. That way he can leave a big gut pile for her to see and smell!!!
Do your gut piles ever last that long? I can think of two of mine that didn't last the night. Much less start to smell. lol Stomach and intestines not included.
Man, I honestly thought that Bob Barker was going to win the "Biggest Douch in the Universe" medal this year... guess he's got some opposition.
