It's a week into the season now and it's been a strange start for me. Been working out of town and busy in general. Got out last Saturday in the rain and only lasted a little while before calling it quits. Back out of town till yesterday. This mornings sit wasn't too exciting and by the time I got to the stand this evening I was sweating and starting to wonder what the hell I was doing. And like I expected in my pessimism I saw nothing for two hours. Then while texting with my wife trying to figure out dinner plans I heard something behind me. I turned to see a decent 8 getting up out of his bed not 20 yards behind me. He would probably go 110-115, so he got a pass. I hope he makes it through. Then like someone flipped a switch a parade of does started filing by. I picked one out and let it fly. Only to realize that I was over 300 yds from the truck and the only way back is through the standing corn. So I got inventive. For anyone who has ever wondered a Jackson wheelbarrow fits perfectly between two rows of corn!

Just don't lift the handles to high, then you will be flying face first on top of the doe. Haha Great duel purpose use of your work tools, I like it!

we have used the wheelbarrow for years to get deer out. we also use it for taking our stands in. we hunt 2 miles in on gamelands and there is no vehicle access. congrats on your doe.

I hunt spots like that also, but I won't shoot deer when I'm that far out if it's 85 degrees out.

Nice job Ruger. I'm trying to mimic that success tonight at a new property.
