    It's never felt so good to sit on stand. I wasn't able to get out for the opening morning sit, but I made it out for the night sit. I saw mergansers, king fishers, loons... I even had the wolves howling to my south. Ahhhh.... life is good:tu:

    ... no deer sighted, but my batteries are recharged!

    I had my first sit a couple weeks ago while elk hunting. Man was I excited, and easily excited. For the first hour, a stupid squirrel behind me kept on fooling me that a elk was coming in and kept on making my heart jump. It took me a little while to get used to the regular sounds of other animals moving around. Sure was fun though.

    3500 wolves.
    95% are in the north 1/3 of the state.
    Our lake is at an intersection of 3 packs territories (plus all the outcasts around the area).

    ... our deer are just more Bad@$$ that yours :poke:
