Going out in the morning. Going after the big ten again. He hasn’t been on camera the past two -three days. Hoping he comes through in the morning. Went and shot the hoyt rx ten today, ordered one in georgia clay (red) all white strings and cables. Ten week wait time which I’m fine with it. Love the new tuning feature and it seemed more dead in hand and quieter. Same smooth hoyt draw. Also set traps today for coyotes/bobcats. Landowner wants to catch a bobcat to tan. So taught him how to trap today and he set most of the sets we made. Keep at it guys we are still in this and have a lot of season left!

Got 2 more beavers yesterday. A 45 pounder and a smaller one. The cool thing about the smaller one is that it has black fur! Pretty rare. Messenger_creation_22A06474-6B25-4C7B-A8CB-F028513893C5.jpeg

I'll be heading out after work today, the big 10 hasn't showed back up for 4 days now, guessing he has a doe again. Gonna just keep after him and eventually i think he will slip up.

Done bow hunting until Dec unless I sit with my bow for gun. Plan on doing a lot of late season sitting and hope to have new bucks move in after the WI gun season. They usually do. I shot my buck Dec 23rd last year. I can hunt through Jan 31st so time to fire up the heater. Lots of season left!

I was out yesterday night , I was in a good size finger of woods between two fields. Field I was closer to had unpicked soybeans I saw 4 deer. Couldn’t tell what they were so thick in there I had to be on the ground , no trees to climb more than 4-6 feet up. They were all headed to the already picked soybeans field.

when I exited I had one deer in the soybeans 200 yards north of me. I got to the top of the finger and looked in the picked field and I counted. 35 deer.
WTH- Why was I wrong at picking the side

south wind. Fields were north of the finger I was in.

I was back in this morning. 3 deer so far all 45-55 yards

Only seen a couple does yesterday evening. Giving it a break until Sunday. Hoping the big 10 shows up on camera soon. I checked one of my cameras that was on video mode that I haven't checked for a month now and the days he daylighted he walked right by the camera. Got good video of him. I'm guessing he is around 150 but won't know for sure until I kill him ;) lol

It comes back in, I’m fortunate to hunt 2B and has a longer season.

    WMUs 2B, 5C and 5D: Sept. 20 - Nov. 28 and Dec. 26 - Jan. 24, 2026.

    Statewide: Oct. 4 - Nov. 21 and Dec. 26- Jan. 19, 2026.

It’s because bear season comes in 11/22 statewide.
