I shot a doe yesterday when I first got into my stand for 2nd part of the day, I moved spots from the am hunt. Let her lay and hunted till dark, saw a couple smaller bucks and doe during the sit. Just as I was about to lower my bow a stick breaks behind me and there stands at 20yds one of the bucks I been trying to lay eyes on, big 9 the neighbor has been telling me about. It was just too dark to shoot, he carried on down into the thicket and wasn’t with a doe. Glad I saw him and he’s around, I was going back there this am but wind switched and it’s too iffy to hunt there. Going out to my farm tonight with my buddy and gonna push into the sanctuary I haven’t been in all year. Good luck everyone. Keep foot on gas and kill them deer!!

Now that I'm bucked out. We move onto beaver trapping for the farmers. Season opened yesterday.

Got a nice 35 pounder this morning!

Only did 3 sets. 2 were iced up and had this one in the 3rd. We'll set up a bunch more when it warms up in a few days. 20251111_083438.jpeg

Damn you guys are so close. Well my time in NYhas been completed. I had my chance last night , I made a bad shot on a doe. Shot her at 417 pm. Last night

she was headed my way and she caught me drawing and spoked a little. She was at 15 yards. Then she went to 35 before she stopped. I was already at full draw. I placed my gap between my 30 & 40 pin. She was quartering away. I placed it on the last rib. And the bow went off. I heard the thwack / she took off and ran for 40 yards the walked into a hedge road. I went to check where she was when I hit her. Couldn’t find the arrow. I did find blood and hair. I could not find my arrow , I’m assuming arrow stayed inside her. We tracked her for a mile and a half. In the snow. It was snowing and it snowed over night so if we stopped we would not be able to pick her track today. She had went the direction towards the prison. Can’t track around the prison. However she back tracked about 15 yards before she would have crossed the road to go to prison. So we called it , I feel awful. First one in a while that I lost one.

Just got set up for the evening. Only got down for about a hour to go get lunch. Set up in the corner where the big ten pushed that doe into this morning. Its all bedding behind me so hoping they are still in there and come to the field tonight. Hoping he didn’t chase her a mile away lol. Good luck to the guys that are out this evening!

Well seen him again and he left his does. And of course he walks right by the stand i hunted this morning going to his bedding -__-
Well now he doesn’t have a doe, should i go back tomorrow evening and sit the stand close to his bedding?

Dude what a mind F! I’m in a similar situation and he showed tonight no doe, I’m hunting his bedding again and I think that’s the play for you too. They move so much now, but they’re creatures of habit.

Yeah literally, when he stepped out with his doe and the doe was working to me, i thought this is it. Then he bumped her one time then he just slowly left her and walked all the way across the field to his bedding and right by my stand/scrape that has a camera on it. Wish I could be there in the morning but got work. Will be out in the evening. Its always nice to have encounters with your target buck but twice in one day. Frustrating!! Tomorrow will be my first time back in the woods since opening day, the bags are packed, there is fresh snow on the ground from tonight/tomorrow morning. Clothes are ready. I’m so excited!

I'll be out this evening after work, hoping the big 10 is still around his bedding area and slips up and gives me a shot. My cameras were blowing up this morning but no pics of the big 10 so hopefully he is just in his bedding area. Good luck guys! We are still in this!

I’m up and went stealth mode, took me 1.5hr to go .5mile and setup. Only moved with the wind, I’m tight in bedding. Good luck party animals!!
