Was at a gun show in Bloomington over the weekend. There was plenty of .223 ammo. Pricey but not quite as bad as it was. Most was around $18 per 20. Lots and lots of AR mags. $20 for GI mags and some thermold mags. 25-35 for Magpul Pmags. Primers and .22lr still sky high. $60 for a brick of .22. Primers @ 60-80.00 per 1000. I doubt we'll see primer prices come down for quite awhile. Pretty much everyone was upbeat and happy tho'. It was a good time.
A guy at work told me Denny Dennis in Fenton, MO got a truckload of ammo in last Thursday. They were selling American Eagle .223 for $500 for 1000 rounds. Sold a skid in a little over a day. I think it's hit or miss there unless you get some inside info. Not sure how true all of this is. I found it on a reliable website. Smith & Wesson: running at full-capacity, making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce more guns to help with the shortages. Ruger: plans to increase from 75% to 100%, in the next 90 days. FNH: moving from 50% production to 75%, by Feb 1st...and 100% by March 1. Remington: maxed out Armalite: maxed out DPMS: can't get enough parts to produce more product. Colt: production runs increasing weekly...bottle-necked by bolt-carrier's. LWRC: making only black guns, running at full-capacity...not enough gun-quality steel to make barrels. Springfield Armory: only company who can meet demand, but are running 30-45 days behind. AMMO: every caliber is now allocated. We are looking at a nation-wide shortage of all calibers, over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible, w/ 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. First in line is military, followed by L.E....civilians are third in line. MAGPUL: behind 1 MILLION mags; do not expect any large quantities of Magpul anytime soon. RELOADERS: all Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra's for reloading purposes....it could be 6-9 months b/f things get caught up.

That is great but they are gouging me. By the time it is shipped it's over $40 which is double the price is should cost. Do I order or wait?????????????????????????????????????? Edit: I ordered 1 box. We shall see how they shoot.
You folks are getting like the Snow Sissys that stock up on toilet paper and milk before a little snow. LOL Everyone is trying to buy more ammo than they've ever thought of having in their life. Get a couple boxes and relax.
Yeah I just want to buy a couple of different loads and bullets I am interested in to see which one shoots the best out of my new rifle. Without Slugger I still would not have anything.
