He was being a cowboy like he wanted to be... They showed him wearing the belt buckle. I'm assuming it wasn't loaded
I get that.. only it was completely unrealistic. I cant believe for a minute that Chris Kyle would do that. Loaded or unloaded. It would never happen. I actually thought something awful was about to go down.
But as gun owners,we know you treat all guns as if they are loaded. I too find it hard to believe that someone that uses a gun daily would ever do that.
Agreed. Great movie. Makes me want to go out and buy a .338. Seth rogan is a turd. So is Michael Moore... We should strap their fat hides to the side of humvee's to stop haji bullets.
On the way out elk hunting last year, I listened to the audiobook. Although the story was interesting, I just couldn't get past how arrogant the guy seemed, but that maybe comes with the sniper role. I do want to see the film though.
EXACT same here. Couple hundred people a not a single word was heard until I got to the lobby outside.
I think that's part of being a SEAL,.. The things they have to do and the places they have to go, I'm sure they have to think and believe the are the best, untouchable, most bad *** person to walk the earth or else they wouldn't come back? Just my thoughts. I don't see someone to runs towards the bullets to save an American as arrogant even of they kinda are. They deserved it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was listening to an interview with Rob O'Neal (the guy who shot Bin Laden). He said that he decided it was time to retire from active duty when the sound of bullets cracking over his head no longer got his adrenaline going... He also said it was like this for most of the guys in his unit (seal team 6)... BEING SHOT AT NO LONGER GETS HIS ADRENALINE GOING!
Adrenaline can save your life, but more than likely will get you killed in the long run if you can't control it. I am no combat expert but I worked in a job where adrenaline is very much part of the job, you look at things differently with exposure. Makes you much more better leader when you can look at chaos and slow it down and make a plan and work it.
From what I have read most of the actual Military events are confirmed and did happen. Its all the stuff that happened when he got back that is in question. For example punching that dumbass Jesse Ventura in a bar....didn't happen.
Was watching an older interview this morning when Chris was asked to describe his first kill. He did describe the woman in the first scene walking with a grenade.. though never mentioned anything about a child walking with her. I guess that falls into this category.
I believe they changed things in the movie a little bit but I believe the book is as close to nonfiction as it gets. I don't know what happened but I believe something happened in that bar and I'm taking Chris word for it over Jesse Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Or how about shooting and killing two guys who tried to car jack him? There is no record of the deaths. No police report even though he claimed two of them arrived on the scene?
I asked someone about the scene where he aims a gun at his wife and my coworker said he took it as his kids toy gun, he never assumed it was real. Could it have been a cowboy set he got for his kid(s)? I have yet to see it but I plan on seeing it soon. This scene bothered me from what I read in here so I wanted to ask someone about it. What was exaggerated or lied about? I haven't read the book so I don't know what's even in question, I am just curious.
I would imagine any publisher is going to want spice on the facts to sell books as well as the professional writer hearing a story and writing it not in the exact way it was told.
