Politicians salaries aren't even a drop in the bucket compared to the deficit. I don't know why people think their salaries are so outrageous.

Now, unlimited terms and fundraising is a different story.

Really? So seal team 6 failed?
How about GPS system we have?
    National parks?

Even Social Security has worked, look at the poverty rate of our seniors before social security.

That's just a few items, even our hwy system was a great success, who did that again?

Germ, I see your side...but the sad truth is for every success there is a failure. Please don't think I view any of those things you listed as failures. I'm just getting so sick of the politcal bantoring from the left to the right, right to the left..and the blind sheep that follow it all like a bunch of zombies.

GPS i got lost in the woods using one because it lost signal.
Highways suck and where we live we pay tolls.
Social security will out be there for you?
How about forest preserves where we can't do crap and there are thousands of acres locked in it that can never truly be used by outdoorsmen and women.
I understand your point completely germ. I'm just tired of the crap that they get away with because they do a few things right.

    Really?

    Bigger Deficit, Fewer Taxpayers

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that about 19 million people will receive tax subsidies to purchase insurance through the state exchanges in 2019.[15] Since these subsidies are refundable, millions of additional households will have federal tax subsidies that exceed their income tax liability. In fact, most of the households participating in the exchanges will not pay any federal income taxes and will likely receive money back from Washington. Even when accounting for households that currently have no federal income tax liability, the Obamacare tax subsidies create a scenario in which about half of all households will have zero or negative income tax liability after the economy has recovered completely from the recession.

The tax subsidies are projected to be the biggest deficit-increasing component of Obamacare. The CBO estimates that the subsidies will add $100 billion to the deficit by 2018, growing more expensive thereafter.[16] Since many of the beneficiaries will be in the upper middle class, Obamacare’s tax subsidies represent a reckless addition to the welfare state. Furthermore, the considerable expense of these tax subsidies will be borne by a dwindling number of households who pay federal income taxes, and by future taxpayers through increased federal borrowing.

Sounds to me like it could have just the opposite impact on the deficit.

The number of people that pay federal income taxes continues to DECREASE. Yes, fewer and fewer Americans are paying federal income tax. We continue to reward those that drop out of school and those that would rather stay home and have babies and those that would rather spend their day hanging in the streets with more and more entitlements. If you build it, they will come. We have built the world's richest entitlement programs and they are coming in droves! If you dont see that as a recipe for financial disaster, then you just dont grasp the problem. Maybe they are the smart ones. While the rest of us bust our humps to pay the mortgage and put our kids through college, they sit on the front steps of their rent subsidized housing having a few beers and a smoke.

    Lmao you have no idea.
I'm only 40. My last accident broke some vertebrae in my low back. So going from a very active person and carpenter to having to take a nap after cutting the grass sucks.
But on the sunny side i have my beautiful wife and kids and friends like all of you so sappy as it is I'm blessed everyday

OK I agree with you there Dan...Unlimited terms for sure doesn't help the US out... theres people making bad decisions for the country but good decisions for themselves...Those positions need to be cleaned out with more level headed people who can do some good and go against the grain and do what is right..doing what is right and not going with the crowd is what will help...also too many people get things for free...and those who take for free have taken major advantage of the system and the people who fund the system...the US is too lenient/tolerant of BS like this....
