He's symptomatic of a larger societal moral decadence, not really the cause of it. I don't think its fair to blame him alone. I blame every coward that we as Americans have voted into office over the past 80 years who lacked the resolve to stand up and speak up when the very fibers of our founding fathers were being ripped to shreds. "All that is required for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

Well said. I think many good men and women are planning to speak up in Nov and make this guy a one term president.

I certainly hope so. I don't particularly like Romney, but he seems to be the lesser of two evils.

So what if we make Obama a one term president? IMO, that is not going to solve a small fraction of our problems. We've got a long way to go to make this country a twinkle in the eye of what it once was.

That may be true, but he sure isn't the answer. He has proven that beyond a shadow of a doubt, so It's time to cut our losses and move on.

Agree 100%. It just seems to me that everyone thinks that everything will magically go back to normal once he is gone. Not a chance......it's just a small start.

Here's the two scenarios that play out this fall...

    1) Obama gets re-elected. Liberals rejoice and claim that things will be better in the next four years, but its more of the same. Conservatives, despite their many threats to leave the country, go nowhere. They spend the next four years insisting the sky is falling. They mark the days on their calendar until November 2016.

    2) Romney gets elected. He continues to make things worse, while every bone headed move is defended by conservatives. When his moves become so blatantly stupid, they steal a page from the liberal play book and blame the previous president.

    USA! USA! USA!

Is the normal we are going back to the economy falling apart, tax cuts and increasing spending, unfunded wars, Medicare expansion unfunded and more government in education?

    I cannot wait;)

I am not into politics much.
But I really do not believe that either one of them is the lesser of 2 evils.
I think there has to come a point in time when collectively we stop sitting by and complaining and believing that our vote will really change things.
Just look at the recent upholding of our courts.
The airlines will have to allow pot belly pigs on the flights if the passanger needs it for moral suppport.
But yet a person that is over a certain weight has to purchase 2 tickets.
I honestly think that we as a whole have become way to concerned with individuals feelings and the the feelings of the general population.
We really need a change and I do not think either one of these canidates is our answer.
So how do we fix that.
Here is a question that I would lke to know the answer to
If you could honestly put anyone person in office to run our country who would it be?

I agree. Romney is not the lesser of two evils, he is just a different evil. We are screwed either way.

Mickey Mouse could run against Obama and the polls would still be split right now.

    Thats to funny.
As crazy as it sounds I honestly would vote for the guy that has no political back round but that would stand up and put the hammer down on all of this BS.
Our government is being run like its 2 different clicks in junior high school.
I feel sorry for the poor men and women that are serving our contry right now and always have and always will take the brunt of the hits for our suited seats

Exactly! Americans got dooped into the whole "Change" movement and believing he was some kind of savior/magician. America is so far from what we once were the younger generations (I'm 26 and will lump me in as well) can't even remember what America truly once was! We need a president and the hundreds of elected senators and reps to stop the ridiculous banter and empty promises. Admit we're screwed up and do something about it...and for heaven's sake stay consistent in your thinking. I don't agree with everything Ron Paul thinks we should do, but I'll give the man more respect than any presidential candidate I can remember just simply for the consistency he has shown. errrr...just gonna stop because I'm getting worked up...thanks...

Yes, and politics are not the only reason. It certainly has not happened solely in the last 3.5 years. I'm not saying there aren't things to be concerned about right now, but lets keep our heads. People are acting a little nutty.

The world is changing and so is our country. Its not 1776 anymore. Every generation thinks the generation after them is screwing everything up. If you could go back to 1912, I guarantee that people were complaining about where things were headed in this country.

    Just breath lol
This is exactly why I try so hard to never talk about politics.
I grew up in the 70's
But my neighborhood was stuck in a 50's mentality. So my out look on life in general is way different than must people in my age range

Michael and Vito you both are correct...this bed has been made for years and it's true one generation always feels the next is ruining everything. It just seems easy to me, if Americans want this country to stay free or whatever we want we should make it happen, because we can...we have the right to vote, but sadly most/some don't do that.

We need term limits for congress! We need campaign reform! We need line item veto! We need budget reform! We need entitlement reform! We need states rights!

Find me a candidate that will give me these requests, and I will show you a candidate that will turn our country around and point them in the right direction. Unfortunately, we will never see those changes because our government is about politics, not managing the country anymore.

Not a chance. Hell, it's hard for me to remember when things were normal. Some will say the Clinton era, but in all honesty, he put the matress on top of the box springs in the bed we lay in now.

The change in this country is going to come from the people. Not the politicians. Seeing how I have little faith in mankind. Well.......

It's time for me to move back to Texas.

While our founding fathers may have had a good idea to start, the past 200+ years have turned our government into a self serving entity, that ONLY cares about prepetuating its own agenda. It doesnt matter the individuals involved, the gov't only intrest is keeping itself relevant and powerful. No matter who is elected, the gov't will roll on. THe people may suffer, but the gov't won't. It will take a scenario beyond our worst fears to truly "change" things, and our country as a whole, is not willing to undertake that.
