I am left handed and have always shot a bow left handed. I am right eye dominant. Recently I shot a right handed bow and shot almost as good as I do lefty. I took quite a few shots with it and was really happy with the groups that I was getting at 20-30 yards. I have previously done some limited RH shooting when helping my brother and dad sight in their bows. I realize that it is advantageous to shoot from the side of your dominant eye, but i don't want to switch just for that reason. I am thinking about trading in my back up LH bow for a RH one. Does anyone else own and shoot both?
I shoot right but am left eye dominant. Never have shot left handed but will be switching when I get a new bow. I'm 21 so it should be easy to get used to.
My father is a true ambi, shoots a bow right handed a gun left handed , writes left handed throws a football right haned...crazyness.
Left handed, but right eye dominate here. Shoot gun and bow right, everything else is left. Your accuracy could be much, much better if you shot right IMHO
I am right handed but left eye dominant I do everything right handed. When I shoot I have to close my left eye. I think it would be a good idea to make the switch !
Thanks for the imput everyone. I think I'm gonna try to pick up a used RH bow and see how it goes. I don't plan on switching from LH to RH right now, but who knows.....If I am just as comfortable and shoot just as good it would definitely be nice to shoot with both eyes open.
I'm right handed.I shoot a bow leftie, rifles left, pistol either.I am cross dominant eyed(left being dom) I got ''issues''...lol I think its more important to shoot with the dominate eye side.
While we were trying to find a bow for my girlfriend, who is right handed but left eye dominant, everyone told us if you want to be all you can be go with the dominant eye. Since you have already been shooting righty and are comfortable with those groups I see no reason to not go ahead and just make the switch full bore for next hunting season. Just imagine how good you'll be shooting after a summer of practice. Also then there will be no dealing with right and left handed stuff, it's easier to find right handed accessories and the ambi stuff usually comes set up for righties anyway. I say go for it and don't look back.
