A few years ago, I showed up to the polling place to vote and was told I had already voted. All that without a picture ID. When I protested, I was told that there was nothing I could do about it. Personally, I get irked when someone else decides they want to vote for me!

So, if a I had a fake ID with my picture and your name how would that stop me from voting for you?

Thats what I thought but if someone did use a fake (their picture, with a false address) and the real persons name gets checked off you would know when the real person came in and have a grounds for fraud. And make the punish really harsh like $100,000 fine and 5 years in jail. Make them not want to commit fraud. Hell give them the death penalty I don't care

Or they might tell you there is nothing they can do about. How would they even know who to punish?

Obviously if two people are using the same name and address one of them is committing fraud. I'm sure if pushed hard enough the person committing fraud would own up. If not check them against finger prints, DNA, or whatever. Go to the address and look at the pictures in the house

Not the guy running the polls but a law enforcement officer

If you meant it as a joke then maybe my reply was a little harsh but It didn't come across that way to me. Apology accepted.

If everyone that is on federal assistance (not retirement) actually voted, the Democrat party would win every election by a landslide margin. In fact, if only 2% more of the eligible recepients voted this would happen. The party itself readily admits that. To me, its kind of sad to think that the people that pay nothing into the system but benefit from it would always have the say over how the tax payers money is spent.

I am with Bruce and Gary, we need to find some grassroots support for another party that is not a bunch of crooks.

Do you think its too late to get a massive write-in campaign for Rancid out to the masses?

I know all you guys think i'm a liberal but the truth is I've lost all confidence in our entire political system. I've already voted this year (I will be on a hunting trip during elections) and I in principal could not bring myself to vote for either Romney or Obama. I voted for all the other elections which were important to me and they were not all for one party. I often play devils advocate on here regarding the Republican party since 95% of people here seem to be hardcore republicans.

Agreed. I don't have much hope that either party can succeed until the system changes to eliminate corruption and self serving among politicians. I vote republican but only because I find it the lesser of two evils (Its all good and well to vote for a write in or third party, but they literally have 0% of winning so I instead choose to vote for the better of 2 candidates regardless how terrible both are).

And for clarification, I am not a liberal either (I know some jaws just hit the floor).

LOL The fraudulent vote voted and left. How owuld you make them "own up"? That wasn't their address on the card or even their name, just their picture and you wouldn't even have that anymore. Checking fingerprints, DNA or whatever from what? The voting machine that has all of that from thousands of people? I am not picking at you but a voter ID is not going to prevent anymore fraud than no voter ID. All voter ID does is put people on "sides" and that is how the politicians like it.

Sorry, Cooter. Your liberal agenda is pretty obvious. If you are not 100% in favor of the republican party, and say anything questioning that party, you are a liberal around here.

    Its the rules.

    Say it ain't so:lol:

    Lets put it this way
You have two plates of food, one has poop in it, one has a little less poop in it. Most seem to be willing to eat the plate with a little less poop, but it's still poop.

    I plan on starving:lol:

Don't listen to anything thing that sissy pants Vito guy says. I'm sick of his liberal nonsense. I bet he supports the use of x-bows during ARCHERY season! I wish they would just ban him already.

I understand where you are coming from. If somebody wants to cheat the system bad enough, they will find away. I do however feel that you should have to show some form of photo ID before voting. Just walking up saying "I'm John Smith" just doesn't cut it for me. Making up fake photo ID's can be done, but a lot of effort would need to be put into this and would not be commonplace. I don't understand why it is too much to ask, to have a photo ID visually verified by the volunteer.
