Am I looking at this wrong or have they lost their minds?

It always amazes me when I look at hunting regulations from state to state and how they differ. For instance, in South Carolina you cannot use hooks to catch alligators - they must be brought alongside the boat ( snaring with arrow, harpoon etc.) before being dispatched. When dispatched a handgun ( no rifles) or bangstick must be used. You cannot dispatch the alligator while he is swimming free or on the bank. Now think Swamp People to see how many similarities you see in the regulations.

I think it will be the farmers that will ultimately push the hog hunting agenda in Tenn. When enough of them loose a lot of crop money to the pigs, then things will surely change. I think the farmers and hunters in Tenn. need to form a coalition to force a more common sense approach to the hunting of pigs. I can’t understand their reasoning behind not allowing hunting other than the fear it might cause them to spread out their range. There should be enough documentation in the states that have a hog problem to prove that allowing the hunting of hogs will mitigate against their spread, rather that causing it.

There reasoning was that people were releasing them for hunting and if there is no season on them people will quit releasing them. Reality check, they are already everywhere anyways. No one needs to release them anymore. Tn has some ignorant game laws.

Just wait till they change the yote laws too.
It seems that the game and wild life dept across the country go from one extreme to another.
No wolf hunting for years now they are opening it back up again because the populations have exploded.
From my perspective they should just have a set season for each of the animals with a set limit and manage those dates and amounts by the research they do of the populations in the area the live in.
Were I live there is no projectile firing which means no hunting. But I have yotes all around my house every night.
I know that they have that law to keep everyone safe. But why not take qualified shooters/hunters give them a test and give them a special permit to be able to hel control the populations of the nusense animals in the area.
