my girlfriend wants to go hunting and shoot her first deer with a bow, I don't bait because I like the challenge, and have never baited in general. But I want to set some out to see if we can't get her a doe. Am I teaching her wrong because i'm putting her over bait for her first bow hunt?

For a beginner I think baiting might be necessary. With baiting you generally see more deer and that's what will keep a beginners attention. Otherwise they might find it boring or uninteresting. I think you're doing the right thing. :tu:

Legal in MD and Ohio on private land, and a good idea for a first timer.

Baiting is legal in quite a few states like MI,TX,LA,FL,GA,SC,WI etc...
Some of these states limit how much or where or times of the year like PA
I think you should bait to get deer coming in for her.

uh........WRONG! Might want to get some facts stright!

Yes since it is legal where you are I would do it! Best way to keep her interest. After she see's a ton of deer and takes one if she chooses then let her decide how she wants to hunt going forward! Best of luck to her!

You're way off bud. I think baiting for a first time hunter is a great idea unless you're in an area that has high deer movement throughout the day. Gotta let them see action.

Legal to bait in ky as well. If it's legal and that's what you and her want to do, then go for it.
