Zimmer/WI's post got me thinking. I was looking at all the mounts from these impressive trophies. They're all shoulder mounts. I know I'll never shoot anything close to these things, but if I did, I think I'd have to look at something more than a shoulder mount... like a full body mount. Any idea why these trophies don't show more? Anyone else feel the same way? If so, what would be the score before you knew you had to get more than a shoulder mount?
It would have to be above 200" before I would consider a full body mount...If I shoot a deer in the 160+ range I plan on getting a pedastal mount.
200", that is just big enough for rattling antlers, JK I dont think a full body mount is for me, but a nice offset shoulder mount works every time.
I want a full mount deer mount in the worst way! Course, I do have the house/room for it as well. First piebald, white or albino deer I shoot will be full mounted. I voted 180+ as well.
A state record archery buck down, he's getting full body mounted. I will probably die trying but thats part of the fun...It's probably the only way I would full body mount one.... Possibly if I killed a 200 inch buck from any state or province.
I have no interest in ever getting a deer full body mount, but I did see this really cool floor mount of a giraffe head and neck. I figure that I could stick it behind the tv or a couch so that it looks like it's sticking its head over the top looking at everyone.
I'm with you Rob. My goal is to shoot a 200"+ up here in Ontario and then have a full mount of it being chased by 2-3 full body wolf mounts.
it would have to be a record buck, either typ or non-typ, wouldn't matter... if it put my name at the top of the record books then I think it warrants it... however, I like Christines idea... i'd bet it would pay handsomely to sell it to Cabela's/BPS/Gander Mt.
