No sir, she hasn't completely given out yet, so I'm just gonna keep going till she's won't go anymore. Or the rut is over, whichever comes first. I'm thinking about dropping a 5 speed in it, depending on how hard the conversion is. 4l60e transmissions suck

Come back when your truck has 200k miles of hell :D Pulling skid loaders, mini hoes, cattle, hauling too much wood up steep hills, etc. I have even had to put it in 4wd to get enough traction on pavement to get going while pulling some things

    Oh, and it's only a 5.0L 305 :tu:

Um...well mine sees a grueling commute everyday to work...sometimes there is even snow and ice....and it has to work extremely hard to compensate for the fact my wife didn't think I needed a luxury 4x4 (long hilarious misconception story of her misguided thoughts on what a 4x4 was) and my 2WD truck has to attempt to be a 4x4.

    Oh and it's just a 4.2L V6... :bash:

Lol my lady friend already knows that trucks are not something I will compromise on with her  4x4, 8 cylinder (unless it's a 6 cylinder Cummins diesel), no if ands or buts!

Oh it gets better...and to be honest...out of all the year's I've driven 2WD vehicles I've wished I had 4x4 or needed 4x4 maybe a dozen times over the 12 year stretch so it is what is is...but back to the funny part.

About a month or so after I get my truck winter sets in and we get an icy day.....wife comes in from work and proceeds to share how glorious and awesome having a vehicle with AWD is. We'd gotten her a new SUV with AWD that summer.........I proceed to ask her if she knows what AWD is? What 4x4 means? ......no clue on the AWD just that they do well in snow....the 4x4 answer?

"They're the luxury lines right? Like leather interior, power everything, seat warmers...." It all began to make sense....

    "I just state no dear...and next time I get a truck I'm getting a 4x4 if I find a good deal"

That's the short version of the story but oh my word I was on a pissed and laughing hysterically kinda ride that discussion.

 Wow. I don't even know how to respond to that haha. You never really know how much people know about vehicles I guess. Things we think are common sense, there are always people that have no idea about it. I trust you straightened her out on 4x4.

I couldn't even count the number of times I have needed 4x4. Building fence in the spring monsoons, driving through all the snow drifts in the driveway, going up steep gravel hills, getting to secluded fishing spots, etc.

Yup different world bro, if I didn't have to work for a living and could be where I want I'd have a 4x4...with a quad for even further places. :D
