My back does not like dragging deer up and down hills and through brush anymore. Feels like a 1 to 2 hour drag cripples my back for a week. So the last few smaller deer I've killed I've used my treestand as a tool. I put up my treestand next to a tree like the picture below. I plop the deer down belly up in the section labeled 1. I then tie the deer down with a strap ( a sweatshirt will due..lol) After that I sit on my butt and slip the straps over my shoulders. I grab the section labeled 2 and when I rock the stand forward I pull on that section with my hands and up to my feet I go. I use the momentum to get to my feet. As for long walks carrying 100 lbs or less, it still is tiring but not as nearly as tiring as a long drag. If I get tired I sit on a tall lay down with the section of the stand resting on it or I simply back up into a tree and lean against it. That takes most of the pressure off as well. Just another method for those of you who hate longs drags and the back shredding twisting that accompanies them. Long live the hunt! Ps... This probably won't work in Iowa on even a yearling. But a 100 lb field dressed deer where I hunt is pretty normal. Lol. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
