Yes it is certainly a blessing at times. So long as my wife doesn't know I'm off and not doing stuff around the house or whatever. She doesn't like my hunting

I just started a new job in july so i won't have a lot of PTO for hunting this year. I still have two hunts planned and hoping to add 1 or 2 more before the end of the season. (if anyone in texas wants to invite me, that'd be great ). There is some public land in east texas that is archery only all season long that i'm going to go to this year along with an archery only public area in north east texas at Caddo Lake. there are a ton of doe out at Caddo but bucks are limited. In the 3 years i've hunted out there, I got a 6 point (attached pic) and a buddy i was with got a spike. I'm hoping with archery starting a month before the orange army, i'll have an advantage and get one before they clear them out. 10429408_10152506829152338_1858211424248905688_n.jpg

Last nights pull from one of the farms down south. I haven't hunted it in a couple of years now.

I might just have to get down there for a hunt or two If theses guys keeps walking around in daylight!

Looks like I get to hunt opening weekend. I'm going to scout this weekend and see if I can't find some bedding areas and food sources. Maybe put up a few mock scrapes and some scents. Time to start sighting in with my broadheads and final preperations. Super excited.

Going to get out this morning and hang a double ladder stand that should have been in last weekend. I'll probably adjust some cams around some of my stands today to see what is passing through...

Seven days for me here in Indiana and its on!

Very nice pictures, I've been traveling West Texas the past week in the oil patch, I think next week I can head to Ky and see what's on the cameras. I plan for about a week of sits, really waiting for a cool week with no moon.
The bow is dialed in I've spent several sessions at the range , also the rage tip adds a bit too f weight, so I need to aim higher with them verses target tips.
Worked on no scent and stealth last year, I will post a tree stand as well, with the other stands should have good choices in any wind direction.

Or should I say alternate choices!

Got the double hung finally today.

    What an adventure.

I had to drive blind through 8 ft tall horse weed to get back to where I needed to be!

Things sure change over a couple of months during summer in a river bottom...

Any way---- this stand should be money on the right wind :)

stand looks great. I have a double I hung up several years ago. The vines have taken it over and make for some awesome natural cover, but it's a ****& to get in on the first visit. Luckly I was able to clear it off a few weeks ago when I hung my cameras. I wasn't able to make it down there this weekend to pull the cameras. I'm on call this week, so there's no chance in me doing it this week. I'll try and make it down next weekend with my bow in hand.

Did anyone have any luck this weekend? I saw some from the stand pics. stories???

I pulled a Robin hood yesterday from 30. I'm dialed in and ready for this weekend.
