My name is David. I live in SW Louisiana but i'll be hunting in East Texas this year. I hunt public land until i can afford to get on a lease or buy my own land somewhere. I've been hunting for about 10 years now but this is my first year to use the bow. I got into it kinda randomly but once i started, i knew this was going to be my future. I already sold all my rifles and just have the bow now.

Heading out this morning to my river bottom lease to get a double ladder stand hung. The set over looks a 2 acre food plot I created in a funnel along a river bottom crossing. I watched multiple bucks last year use this funnel and I decided it would be a great place for small plot and a double buddy ladder. I plan to get my nine year old grandson in there for some evening sits this fall :)

Just hoping that the big down pour we had last night doesn't have the bottom flooded so bad that I can't get back there..

Ok here's my quick Bio, I live in Houston, and I've been hunting 10 years or so and love it, started bow hunting because the bow season in KY is six months long, not just 10 days for rifle. So why KY, my family has continued to pass down some property for the last 100 years, I've put laid down some food plots, the place has three streams that flow all year long, cliff sides, hollers, old stone chimneys etc.
I guess it was a small village back in the 1830's. Best part is watching baby does walk around, deer feel safe with no hunting pressure. And Yes that's a Duece and a half.. Well this morning was a wash all the way... raining when I left and high water when I got there. Tried to 4 wheel my way back to the spot, but after a quarter mile of foot deep water the best part of stupid said this ain't happening... So maybe the sun will shine this week and it will be passable by mid week or the weekend at the latest... Got to get this stand up before the leaves change...

hey guys my name is Scott i'm 32 years old and have been hunting for 18 years now. I live in northern wi and work at a marina. it gives me ample time to hunt, but the deer population up here is pretty low with the predators and the brown its down mentality. i have been traveling to illinois to hunt for seven years now. My hunting will start in west central il the first week of nov then i will spend the rest of my time in southern il. I will try to keep you guys posted on how my hunting goes. i will be scarce for the next few days due to an elk hunt in mt, but will check in when i get back. madman is my brother.

I hear ya, at my place it's all about being able to climb out, just a little bit of rain can slip up the trail and your hoofing it out. I'm waiting for the weather to break and cool off just a bit more, I have to go out to West Texas next week but then should be in the blind, trying to go for about a 10 day sit.

Guys-- if rednas5 doesn't show up by tomorrow I am going to put in for a replacement. I have sent him a couple of PM's with no reply.

Right now the only comments on the avatar for team 28 names are Rabid Squirrels and Alternate Threat From Above. I got to admit I kind of like the one I suggested.

This coming Friday I will submit to Fitz our team name and our final team role call.

Please let me know if you have other suggestion for names or which ones I threw out there you like best.

I also want to remind everyone of the requirements to enter a deer in the contest--- two pictures are required of your kill and your bow must be in each shot. I have already seen one entered that won't count because of this.

If you take a buck that scores over 50 points then you will need to add the score sheet. If you need help scoring feel free to ask. I have done a bunch of them over the years.

Not a requirement but a BH.com request is that you tell what archery equipment was used. If you have it in your signature line you're covered.

Now for those of you that can.. get out there and start knocking some deer down and racking up some points for us!

As always be safe out there.. This can not be said enough if you are climbing or sitting in a stand---- always! always! always! wear a safety harness and use a life line while climbing --- your life and those that love you are counting on you coming home after the hunt...

Hi everyone, I'm Shane. I live in Northern Illinois. I hunt in galena Illinois and in the suburbs closer to my house. Last year the last two years I have been fortunate enough to tag out with 2 bow bucks. Last year I killed my biggest to date which net scored 133 3/8. This year I'm chasing a couple big ones that I would guess at over 150". I hunt 5 to 6 days a week and this year I will be taking up the challenge of self filming. I've been involved with the deer contest for a clue years now. Last year I was on a team with jvanhees. Thanks again for the request!
