Thats why God gave you wisdom. You have actually try to read and understand. You don't need to worry about if one person things they are right or wrong.

Its your eternity, its your salvation, I would probably take it rather seriously and find out for myself, and not depend on a priest or preacher. Just sayin.

Ahhh, but are there so many "right" ways? Or is there only 1 right way? That is where people start to argue. Instead of leaning on God, they lean on their knowledge and traditions. No offense whatsoever, but I believe there is only one God and only one Word of God. I also believe people saying there are different ways to interpret it are using that as an excuse to read into it whatever fits the way the want to live.

Religion is a term that is used today very loosely to describe ones personal beliefs. Actually that is not the true definition of religion. People don't really turn away from religion as quickly as they do a spiritual relationship with God. jmho

    That's great.

But what about the Muslim, or the Hindu, or the Buddhist, or the Judaist, or the Shinto that believe that their beliefs are the one and only way to whatever afterlife they believe in? Who is to say that they are wrong? They have faith in their beliefs just as strong as you. Yet according the bible, they will all burn in hell? Most live more devote and moral lives than Christians. Yet they are condemned for believing all that they have ever known? What their parents and ancestors told them to be fact?

The point is, every man has his beliefs what will happen to him after he dies, but nobody knows. It's all just speculation.

My wife would argue that God forgot to give me wisdom.

This is one of those "turn offs" for me. I appreciate you worrying about me and all, but if I don't believe in God, so I also don't believe I need to be saved. To me, its like telling my kids they need to behave because Santa is watching.

I think the bickering is natural. Think about it. I can argue to no end with someone that has very different beliefs than I. There is so much they do "wrong", but since they are so different, I can write them off as crazy.

Now take someone that's 98% in agreement with me. When we get to that 2%, it's much harder for me to understand the difference, because they seem so "right" to me. They're not crazy, how can they not get the last bit right?

    That make sense to anyone?

Funny thing is we love to find the differences. That's how we make observations.

Now, Muslims believe in the Bible, Muslims & Christians believe in the Torah. We are all far more alike than different. I'd guess I have more in common with many Muslims than Christians.

By the way, I think you all hunt "wrong" too! :busted:

Yes, I believe in God... have I had my doubts? Sure, who doesn',t but that's where child like faith is good enough for me. I may be wrong... closed minded.... or shallow, but I don't try to over analyze... I just believe.

I pray, does that make me a believer? I don't know the answer to that.

Don't know. There are definitely powers greater than us and things a work we have no control over. I've just seen too much crap to make sense out of it as a definite YES or NO answer. I don't believe there is a Devil as religions would ask us to believe. I believe the Devil is within man, some more than others. You fight it or you become it.

I am a strong believer in God and will always love the Lord Jesus Christ as my saviour, I am a sinner and I need Christ for forgiveness and to help me through my life, my sins, my short comings. I am thankful for all the blessings he has given me in my life. When he takes me from this earth I hope I leave it with no regrets and that I lived my life for his purpose, not mine. God has helped me so vividly in my life that its almost scarey at times. Time after time I have felt Gods presence in my life, I hear his voice and when I follow it I have never been let down. When I listen and do his will I have always felt good inside. When I stray I can feel it and I hear God speaking to me, when I do this I often stumble in life. When I stray to far, I have found myself in a situations that forces me to clean up my act and do the right thing. I 100% believe that there is a much greater power involved in all things in life.

I wouldn't exactly call it worrying. You made a statement, I just replied. If you could care less about God, salvation or what happens when you die, then, you of course wouldn't take the interest in reading more about it.

But some of us, myself do. Your mileage may vary.

When someone says they hear God speak to them is this not thier conscience speaking to them? Do they really hear a physical voice speaking to them?

If they say they hear His voice audibly, I would say they are koo koo for cocoa puffs .... but I will say this .... that unheard voice, or the still small voice can be louder and clearer than an audible one, spiritually speaking ...

Tony, if Jesus could raise from the dead after his crucification and death, then why would someone who says they can actually hear God speaking be weird or unbelievable? I mean the Bible is full of unbelievable tales unless one has faith. Hearing and speaking with God would not be any "weirder" than believing some of the Biblical tales. Or do you believe God has gone to a "hands off" policy with humans and is no longer active in our daily lives?

I have never met anyone who audibly heard "Jesus" .. I was just answering Rick's question ...

I have only heard people who have heard "god" tell them to kill someone ....

Yeah, I can't imagine why any of this could be confusing.
