Just returned from a 2 day hunt with nothing to show for it. The highlight of the trip was this footage I took first thing yesterday morning. Buck was about 400 yards away and quickly left once he noticed me. The first part of the video is at normal speed. I slowed down the second one to 25%.

How big do you think he is?

He's a nice buck!! Definitely getting the rut neck look to him. 130" to 135" buck (I'm being conservative), great G1's!

I'm going to say 140's. 400 yards and he picked you off? Not being a smart a$$ but what's your stand like?

Fergus! A late start is getting to your stand 15 minutes before daybreak. Not getting out of your car 30 minutes after light!!!! WTF where you doing????

Anywho - he's a solid mid 140's buck IMO. Past his ears, good brows, and great beams. He may even go higher, hard to tell on the mass.

Was this down in the 'Ham?

Shame shame Fergus!! You might of educated him some more.

It was November 1st, I was 19 years old and I was out partying the night before. I had a 135" or so 10 point frequenting a scrape that I was set up on down wind. I seen this buck on numerous sits earlier that week but It seemed every time he would wind check the scrape he would just be out of range (25 yard range). Well, the morning after my partying I ended up getting out late after light and on my way In to the stand there was my buck 12 yards from my tree stand with his nose on the ground 60 yards from me. He then looked In my direction being my wind was going right at him and off he went. Never did I see that buck again, man I was pissed at myself and still am to this day.

IT was a last minute decision to hunt. And a few hour car ride. I ended up not hunting anywhere near him after that. Ended up going a few miles down the road to leave him be. Biggest problem is that is a public land buck.

So yes Justin i planned to be in earlier just couldnt make that happen!

Looking at my schedule this week I think I will be able to get after him several days next week! Let's hope I didn't scare him off!
