Auburn vs. Oregon SEC vs. PAC 10 War Eagle vs. Ducks Heisman winner vs Heisman wannabe Cheaters vs. The Corporate Nike team Deeeeep South vs. North West Whatever you want to call them and whatever your perspective may be. Who do you have to win tonight? I'll go with Auburn 45 and Oregon 42. Should be a darn high scoring game being close to the end.
pretty much this... though I'm slightly torn about not rooting for the SEC team... probably more likely to root for em if it was anyone but that cow college...
True or False? (Assuming Auburn wins) Auburn will be stripped of the national title in the future. I say True.
False. It does the NCAA NO GOOD to involve itself an any further investigations where Cam Newton is involved. If they do, they ONLY make themselves look bad. If they win.....it sticks.
Jeff, Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the NCAA simply decide if Newton was eligible or not? I don't think they gave their final verdict on guilty vs. innocent yet pending further investigation. I think two years down the road it all comes out and Auburn loses the MNC.
So Jeff saying the NCAA would look bad by further investigations is incorrect since they have planned on having further investigations all along. Auburn is going down if they win IMO.
I'm just giving my opinion. I'm a football stooge. What's in it for the NCAA to investigate? Why would they want to find anything? How does it benefit them to find anything? Then, why look?
What's in it for the NCAA to investigate? The idea is that the NCAA is going to try and look ethical and to punish those who have done wrong, by their rules, should a student athlete be proved guilty. What is the point of having rules if you are not going to enforce them (at some point)? Why would they want to find anything? How does it benefit them to find anything? See above. Then, why look? Again, to hold those accountable for doing wrong should they prove "wrong" has been committed. To be clear, I'm no defender of the NCAA or the joke of this investagation, but merely just stating the "whys". Sure CN will be long out of school by the time the final verdict will be determined. But at least there will eventually be some sort of justice. This will of course not be in time for tonights game and will take years I'm sure. Right or wrong this is why. What happened to Reggie Bush is a prime example of what will happen to CN.
I am going for Oregon because their coach was a former I-AA coach who got a shot. That being said, I am very impressed with Auburn's head coach and how he treats his players. He seems genuine.
