He everyone brand new member here. I have been out of bowhunting for the last 10 years but am back this year. I have been hunting every afternoon and have seemed to pattern the deer in my location. every night between 6:30 to 7:30 (happy hour) they all come thru to go there bedding spot. I am seeing at least 2 deer every night, some nights up to 9 deer. i have only seen 1 buck a little 4 pt. the rest are all does. i am thinking this is good because sooner or later there should be a buck, and also the later it gets where there are does there will be bucks. I was talking to a buddy of mine about this the other night and he said I should change my stand location because maybe there are no bucks in this area. I do not agree with him at all. but i thought i would post this up here and see what everyone else thinks
Do you only have one stand location on the property that you're hunting? I would definitely leave the stand up where you've been seeing all of your does because that sounds like it could be a perfect spot during the rut. If there are hot does in your area, there will be bucks that show up. Perhaps if you have a different stand location or another stand you can put up, you can try and focus on an area on your property that is currently housing the bucks. Also, welcome to the site, good to have you here!
First welcome to the site! Second, I'd stick it out or at least come back to that spot when the rut kicks in.
I only have 1 stand right now. the property I am huntinh on is very wierd. it is only about 5 acres, mostley heavy woods that lead back to a river past my property, there is a little bean field on the property but other than that I dont know of any other food plots. there is some very thick tall like cat tails to my east wich is where all the does are heading thats why i thought thats where they are bedding
