What a great story of how a man, **** Proenncke survived, alone, in the wilderness for some 35 years! I bust this out every few months and just marvel in it, wishing I could pull that off!

Any of you folks ever see this documentary?

I have seen his documentary plenty of times. It is truly an awe inspiring story of how he lived off the land.

2 lunger there is, One Man's Wilderness: An Alaskan Odyssey its a book, the journals he kept. 30+ years is a long time to live off the land, he did so until the age of 82, that's pretty amazing!

I read the book a couple years ago, and got the DVD this December. Pretty sweet adventure for sure!

This is the way to escape, not like the Grizzly Man or that Hippie that died in the bus. Proenncke got it right.
