I finally got drawn for a gator hunt in SC. Now I am trying to get all the correct gear to use on my 60lb compound. Anyone have suggestions for line, arrow, broadhead, and reel? Right now I am just looking at the muzzy kit that comes with a barbed expandable head, fiberglass or carbon arrow, and AMS bottle fed reel. My first concern is the "fishing" arrow doesn't have fletching? How bad will that shoot? Should I just buy the muzzy head and attach to my hunting arrow? Any suggestions for shooting in the dark with spotlight? I use a single pin fiber site, so was planning on just using a small flashlight to light it up. I want to follow up the bow shot with a harpoon or snatch hook. Suggestion on those would be awesome too. Thanks a lot guys.
Here is my gator gear so far. I have about three weeks to make changes. Bow with 200# gator line will be used for close shots, baitcaster will 65 and spin with 100lb braid for longer hookups. Snare and large snatch hook for last fight before the kill. Open to any suggestions since I have zero experience, thanks.
