Would you let go of a 07 Ally for a new Assassin, they have one at my shop, in Black Ops, and I like the looks of it, but seriously, technically speaking on paper, they are pretty much identical except for ata and I'm a lover of short ata. But if you've shot both which did you like better? What does one have over the other? Just curious having not shot the assassin. And it's likely I'll never do it, but it's the off season now, gotta have something to think about. :D

Allegiance just because I've shot it and its a very smooth bow. Haven't shot the assassin yet. A 3 year old bow isn't that old. I was shooting a 92 PSE thunderflight until last year. But new bows are always fun. If you have the money and like the way it shoots go for it!

Before you go trading or selling that bow......please give the person who sold it to you a chance to buy it back.

    Carry on.

If that 07 Ally is the one I think it is, I'd like to be 2nd in line to buy it. I've shot the Assassin. It's a nice little bow. It's noticeably lighter than the Ally. (I'm not sure of the specs, just going from feel) The back wall felt more solid as well. I likened the Assassin to that of a mini 101st, a bow which I loved. The best part of the deal is that there are enough Ally lovers (for good cause) out there that you won't have to spend much in the swap and you're gonna get a set of accessories to sell on AT after its all over.

How was the rollover into the valley compared to the 101?

    Sorry for the hijack, Aaron.

Very similar. They have a lefty up at Miller's right now Matt, you should take a spin up and shoot it, you may have a new hunting rig, accessories and all. Let me know, I'll go with you and introduce you to the girls up there. (Easy fellas, two very competent women run the archery department.)

I have an 07 and an 08 Allegiance. I doubt they will be leaving my possession.

The Assassin is a very nice bow but the Allegiance in my opinion is one of the top 3 hunting bows BowTech has made to date. I shot the 05, 06, & 07 :)

I'm a big Allegiance fan. I started with the 05 and kept it until 07 when they introduced the smooth and speed mods for it and made it a bit lighter.

IMO, as with others, its one of the finest bows Bowtech ever produced. The IBO is around 335 on it and its smooth as butter to pull, especially with the smooth mods in it.

I'm a bowhunter, first and foremost. I want smooth, easy pulling over speed. But if I can get both... why not?

Every year since I bought the 07, I take it along with me to shoot the new bows for comparison and every year so far, I have taken the Allegiance home and hung the new ones back on the rack. I just can't find a bow that feels better or shoots better. The Destroyer 340 has been the only bow so far that I may "trade up" to. But the Alley stays.

I've been through quite a few bows in my archery life and the 05 Allegiance is one of the few that I truly miss. It was a great bow, and from what I hear the 07 was everything the 05 was with significant improvements. There really is nothing out there right now that I would give that bow up for if I still had it.

gmmat wants a compound? lol. Like i said I doubt i will do it. My Ally has been a great bow and the last thing i want to do is trade down, there was just a few features I liked on the assassin... i.e. shorter ata. But I know newer isnt always better. If I do decide something Jeff, you'll be the first to know.

I liked the 1st 07 Ally I bought so much, I bought a 2nd one. I am good on bows for a VERY long time. As long as I don't keep driving off with them on the roof of my truck. ;)

Might have to do that. An EZ Press will be coming in my future in place of a bow most likely, but I'm up for shooting some new one's.

The Allegiance was probably the nicest shooting Bowtech I ever shot as well. I owned a Tomkat, and 82nd, and have a Diamond Black Ice on the wall downstairs along with my bunch of Hoyts, but I also like the Allegiance very much, just never had a good opportunity to buy one. I think the Assassin will be more likely a draw to shorter draw shooters as that short of an ATA doesn't seem to draw in too many longer draw archers.

Yea. At least it was low speed when it fell, probably did more damage to my truck scratching it all down the side than it did to the bow...just a ding in the cam that should easily be fixed with a small file.

Ugh. I think I would cry.

If he had a Carbon Matrix he could run over it all day.
