    ...are driving me nuts!

I understand that people aren't sure what to buy, and I think back in the day I even posted one myself, so I am not frustrated with people asking questions. I am just frustrated for them because every single thread starts and ends the same! Person asks which is best, everyone talks about how theirs work great for them, no one really agrees on one (because they're all good) and nothing is accomplished. Sorry for the rant.

I agree but its the nature of a hunting forum. Also, nobody wants to use the search feature.

Most want the magic broadhead that will prevent bad shots or make bad shots good.

I know what you mean oh....What RC and BL said are spot on...Most think it is just easier to ask a question than search to see if that question has already been asked....In most cases it may be easier...I have caught myself doing it a time or two lol....

The real issue is that most have no clue how their broadhead performs and/or how their arrows perform at different ranges. Very few know that their arrows will actually hit low at very close ranges. Not using the heads we are born with is usually far more the issue than choosing which broadhead to use. The ones you buy will do the job just fine... almost all of them... so long as you stay away from gimmicks. The one on your shoulders may be another story.

Part of the problem is people are cheap. This is the wrong direction to take when dealing with the item responsible for actually killing game. I watch people in stores buy broadheads based on price. They gravitate towards the lowest priced heads rather than the proper head for their setup, then because they are cheap they don’t care to shoot the broadheads to see how they fly because they would have to spend more one new heads or replacement blades so they come to the interweb to ask what the best head is (as if we can solve this for them in text). Later they come back and blame the broadhead for the deer they lost (even though they claim they made a perfect hit and center punched the vitals. Because they blame the head rather than themselves, they go out and buy different heads and the cycle continues.

I agree with everything RC said. People make buying decisions at the point of sale primarily based on cost and packaging (looks) without doing research beforehand. IMO the guys coming on the Forums asking questions should be applauded for actually caring enough to ask versus taking the "that will work" approach.

IMO broadheads are the most talked about item when it comes to bowhunting - even greater than bows and arrows. As RC said, they are the item that's primarily responsible for killing the animals we shoot and thus are probably the most important one. And of course everyone has their own opinion on which works best, which is what makes the Internet go 'round.

Although with all of that said, just about any broadhead will do the trick so long as you put it in the right spot. I'm more worried about that than I am which exact model of broeadhead is at the end of my arrow.

As a broadhead collector I've compared and evaluated many dozens of diff broadheads over the years. I've always been a broadhead nerd. I think I have a little over 400 broadheads in my collection now.
