Gonna plant the bulldog 505 exclusively for deer this year. I have about a neutral ph, and also have irrigation on it. I live in ga is the reason this is kinda unordinary. Got any pointers? Heard it don’t get much better if your able to get a good stand of it!
Well, no time like the present. Do it now and you won't be in this position next year. Or get some cereal rye and crimson clover in the ground.
I dont know about Georgia but here in Oklahoma you get way better tonnage off fall planted alfalfa. Mid September is optimal planting date in the south. Just make sure your seed bed is well prepared and firm. Are you drilling or broadcasting?
Broadcasted it! Round up twice been preparing seed bed for a month!. I thought I done the research.... stuff cost to much to not do some homework! Haha
You can spring plant it in the south but the root establishment is better when fall planted. It will last longer and yield better. Good choice, Dr. Joe Bouton did some awesome work in regards to alfalfa and for Georgia agriculture.
Just planted 12 acres of Alfalfa, letting the cameras soak for now, I did get a shot on opening day , it flew high, but part of me didn’t want to take it down in that Ky heat. She’ll be there meet month. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
