My farmer just gave me an option to redo some clover fields in Round' up Ready alfalfa. Is the $$$ price worth the price of a perfect 1-2 acres plots of alfalfa? How preferable is alfalfa to deer in Maryland?

Just depends on what you want to do with maintenance.Monsanto prohibits the use for food plots but if you can get some and want alfalfa it would be good.If they are using your clover why change or if you do maybe go with a mix.You will need to mow alfalfa and preferably get the cuttings off.

Clover is easier to deal with in many ways. They are easier to plant and grow and it stays green longer. Alfalfa usually goes dies after the first hard frost, clover stays green year round i think. Im pretty sure deer like them just as much as clover. The only thing alfalfa has 1 up on clover is you can take a commercial crop off of it.
