Definitely started slow, even the rut wasn't rutty if that makes sense only saw 2 does being pushed around the whole time
I saw a few chasing the last week of the season. Didn't get a buck this season, I was too focused on the ducks.
Guess it was the same all around I was just fortunate enough to be in right spot at the right time this 6 got the ball rollin on a terribly windy day
I killed a 6 point during bow season, then my biggest ever buck on Jan. 14th and then an injured spike on the last day. 6 point killed with bow 8 point killed with my .270

I am making the trip down to hopefully get into some rut action the second week of January... does anyone have any experience with the corps land around pickensville?
Anyone having any luck this year? I've only been able to hunt thanksgiving week due to school. What's it looking like in south Alabama? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
It's been a weird year. No grass on the fields until December has made it tough. Acorn hunting has been phenomenal!! My crew has seen plenty of bucks but no shooters. We've killed a lot of does though. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Hey guys when do we think the rut is gonna hit down here in south bama? Anyone seeing any rubs or scrapes yet? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Scrapes popping up all over the state right now, I believe the south is still a weeks out on the rut though. For EVERYONE who wants to keep up with Alabama hunting, go join these two facebook groups: Alabama Deer Hunting & The Fever. Make a post when you join so I can say hello.
Colbert County here - hunted hard this season and saw 3 doe total; all out of bow range. Pre-season trail cams had 4 nice bucks cruising through but I never planted food plots so they didn't stay long.....
