Yeah, anything the networks can do to drum up a story. Notre Dame going for the tie in all time wins etc...as if any if it mattered when they hit the field. And just for the record, I'm sure a vol such as yourself enjoyed the dig, saying we only have 9...I would have, if the shoe was on the other foot so to speak. I told the wife, we have only seen 4, 1 was when we were 13 years old, and the other three are all recent, the previous 20 or so don't matter anyway unless you need to win a pissing match.
I'm still on my soapbox, ND did not got to bowl games until the 60's or 70's I believe...which could have cost them a few along the way. I'm no history buff on their past, just going off memory, and the pure laziness of not wanting to google anything.
