You can make it yourself in the overn just hang the meat from the trays with tooth picks. takes about 4 too 5 hrs and comes out just as good
Maybe I'll just buy a smoker, gives me a reason to spend the day outside drinking beers... while I'm at it I'll make a nice bon fire and invite some friends over...maybe grill up some back straps...now all I need is a deer on the ground haha.
I hear ya man. Seasons only been open for 11 days but I feel like it's been forever and I should be tagged out by now! Then I remember I am in MASS and just seeing deer should count for something.

Caleb, please report back with doing it in the smoker .... my bro has a nice smoker and took two doe yesterday and we will be making some in his. I believe that will be the only way to improve it .... can't wait
You guys just made me pull out a package from the freezer that already has a 3 day marinate on it before it was frozen ... gonna dry some in the dehydrator tomorrow :D
I think a remeasure is needed on the biggest buck contest, i think Fletch shorted himself atleast 6/8 of an inch, putting me in the lead for some of that jerky.
Didn't read all of the posts so maybe its been asked. I shoot burger through a jerky gun. Should I follow the same recipe-directions?
I just started using the smoker for jerky. It's wooonnnnddderful! Adds a whole other dimension of flavor. Thanks PT for sharing your recipe! You are a good man!!!
