I would say you are close. He has a slight sag in his back. I would be proud to take him.

Sure is a big deer with an average rack. It's kind of unusual. Like you don't usually see a deer that large with a smaller rack. Good luck getting him. BTW I think possibly 3.5. :tu:

Honestly, I think aging a deer outside of .5-2.5 is pretty hard. Unless you have a history or this has some unique feature. Body size can change drastically from month to month, and deer are just plain unique. There are huge young deer, and small old deer.

Here's a good phoot showing the difference less than 2 months can make on the appearance of a deer's body size.

Also, If people were any good at aging deer, it would seem that 90% of deer out there are 3.5 years old :busted:

When did all that snow you guys in the NE got last winter all melt? I would bet that antler growth is pretty low this year because of all the snow. But it sure looks like he's been eating well lately.

That's a tough deer to age for sure. I studied the pictures/videos pretty hard and I would agree, 3-3.5, no older though. He still has some pretty long legs and his shoulders aren't developed very well yet.

Using that July Video I would put him under younger than 3.5.
