I have a couple different pictures of this buck. In one he looks pretty young and in the other older. I'm not sure if I want to shoot him given that he could blow up next year if he's on the younger side.[IMG][IMG]

I heard some say "Don't pass up a buck on the first day you'd shoot the last day". What's the chances you'd be able to kill him next year? Only you can decide. I get wanting to shoot bigger deer but if you're happy with him now, pull the trigger. If not, wait and see what happens. Best of luck with a tough decision!

    I agree with this
If you think you have a good chance at him next year let him pass otherwise if you don't think and he gives you an opportunity wack him.

I shot a little 5 pointer this year and I am completely happy I didn't have much time to hunt and was out of town for a week during what I thought would be my best chance for a bigger deer. I was content in shooting him because I know I have a good chance at a couple nice 4.5 year old deer next year.

Overall I get the same thrill in killing a small deer a doe a big buck
Big buck just gives you bragging rights after.

3.5 years and I think he's somewhere in the 130's.

Thanks for the input guys. I was sitting on stand last night trying to decide what to do if he came by and I've settled on letting him pass. I shot a doe last week so more meat isn't a necessity. Hopefully he makes it to next year.
