^^^ I totally agree. Who gives a rats arse. If the anti cross bow guys want there to be a dedicated season then how about October 31st - November 14th. No other devices shall be used other than crossbow. Problem solved Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
LOL, when we bought the bow for my wife a year ago, we had it set up at the shop. she had never shot a bow before. Within 15 minutes she had a 2 inch group at 20 yards. Give me a freaking break about how hard it is hunting with a compound bow. That is the stupidest argument I have ever heard. Any moron can be shooting one of today's modern compound bow accurately within a half hour!! Weak weak weak PATHETIC argument. I have been in archer since I was eight years old, or for 33 years. And guess what ? I'm switching to a crossbow. Why? Because they look so damn cool, and I can't wait to be laying prone on the ground in a Ghilly suit and shoot a buck within 5 yards. Can't do that with any type of compound bow. To Be truthful I am going to be the most annoying person with a crossbow on purpose just to piss people off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You crack me up Joe! I have tried to stay out of this discussion, but that drew me in. Who gives a damn and WHY would you care what someone else is using as long as it's legal. I see it here in RI all the time - guys whine and snivel about every damn thing DEM does, but do these same folks show up at hearing or workshops to discuss or hear the other side of a discussion? NO. Hunt how you want to hunt and use what works for you and makes you happy (again - as long as it's legal). Don't like a regulation...then DO something about it and don't just snivel at the sidelines! Ok - I'm off my preacher box!!! Hunt and be Happy!

Our bow season starts Sunday and me and my crossbow will be in my stand. First full season in many years. Hopefully it will be short season for me. But then again I may get another tag?
The only thing about crossbows I don't care for is ...calling it archery. Don't mind those who use them.
I have stretch strings for over 50 years and if it wasn't for the crossbow I would now no longer be bow hunting. They're not for sissies or old men. They're for everyone... but mostly they're for hunting. Enjoy your hunting career and your time in the great outdoors.
I could care less what anyone thinks about a cross bow. Most people that are dead set against a cross bow have an ego problem. They dumped $800+ into a stick of wood with training wheels and for that reason it is the only acceptable way to hunt. I hunt alone and will have as much or more enjoyment using my crossbow than any one else. As long as the sciatic nerve don't give me fits. Tree stand is high enough I should be able to stand for a time if need be.
