As I've mentioned, I hunt with both compound and CB for late season, when it's colder. I have to admit, I do "personally" get a greater sense of accomplishment when I kill one with my compound. But, it doesn't detract from the achievement when I kill one with my CB, because for my money, it's still a 20yrd game either way, with only one shot.

    good post swamp.

only thing I would add is over the years I've seen some slob compound hunters too. (you see them at wal mart the night before opener getting arrows.)

    don't laugh, I've seen it.

in the end with me it comes down to choice. shot a groundhog earlier this week after work with my Mathews. why not the crossbow??? it's what I chose to do.

I'll never understand the shaming but that's okay. many moons ago I would shoot 3D with crossbow shooters when asked. why....the gents I shot with were a hoot and I had a blast.

in the end all that matters to me is the simple fact that I made 5lbs. of jerky this fine Sunday morning. what an internet hero has to say matters little!!!!

I'm not being a D! Ck I truly don't know this answer. Is there any big Vegas shoots for crossbows? Is there a Levi G for the crossbow world?

We'll have to agree to disagree on this... I would love to harvest a deer with a recurve someday though!

Joe I just posted that to show that were there is a will there is a way. I don't mind crossbows, they have never affected my hunting. Also I see you defending them alot, it's not needed. Be happy that your out hunting and who cares with what. I see it all the time with people trying to justify what they kill with what ever weapon to other people. And most times no one every said anything. You had a great journey the last couple years and I'm looking forward to see what you do this year. Now it's time to find that big buck bed!

I used to be too but then I realized I am one of these private land snobs and crossbows do not have any effect on my hunting.

I go to bed this eve.....contemplating many a great thing. I've come to the conclusion that I could give a rat's posterior region what crossbow shamers think.

    I said good day sir!

You know its considered poor decorum to be critical of spelling and grammer on a forum? Alas I have come expect that from crossbow shooters, as they are generally uncoth and common.

thanks for the laugh this eve.

I'll try not to be "uncoth" next time.

    for clarification, new crossbow hunter.......
have hunted with compound 20 plus years!

I shot a groundhog last week with my Mathews if that makes you feel any better.
