Its A couple months away from the first black bear season. Im deadly with the new bow out to 70 yards. Im in shape enough to hike up and down mountains all day. Iv got trail cams out in all the spots iv seen fresh bear sign. Im very confident Ill be bringing home a bear very quickly in the season. But here is my problem. Once i get the bear, and clean it. I dont know what to do.
what do you do if you want a shoulder mount? what do you do if you want a bear skin? I know its a simple question, but i dont know the answer. I doubt you just drop a full bear off at a taxidermist, and even if you did. Im hunting pretty deep in the mountains. so I will have to quarter him.

You will need to get the bear skinned and get the cape cooled down or you won't have to worry about what you want do with the pelt.

I've never hunted bear so I can't be of any really help, but Youtube is a great source of information. There are tons of videos showing how to skin out bears.

Check out taxi.net, you should find all the answers as to how to properly care for the animal depending upon what type of mount you would like.
