Congratulations. You ought to submit your story to a magazine - it's awesome!

    Beautiful deer, congratulations!

(I've been getting discouraged after 4 years not connecting with a buck...guess I'll wait a few more years before I get antsy!)

I've had other people suggest that this deer was crossed with mule deer. I'm in extreme SW Arkansas, there are no mule deer around here for several hundred miles in W. Texas.

I guess I should have proof read my story, it makes it sound like this is the first buck I've killed in 48 years.....lol

I get the quest for finally getting that first big buck, not to dismiss other deer but we all want to shoot a big one.

I'll always be 4pt, just on each side with kickers...

Besides, MrMainframe8ptWithKickers doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

Yeah, I didn't know where you are located, your profile doesn't disclose...I was just saying that based on his characteristics. We've killed several bucks around here with a lot of black coloration in their face but that one has more than any I've ever seen this late in the season then add in those split G2's and he really is looking crossbred. Very interesting deer.

 After 48 years, he's just improved to Mr4.8pt
