Couldn't he keep his Cobra insurance? Sorry for you friend, that really sucks. I just don't agree with penalizing everyone for the sake of a relatively small percentage of the population.

To point of this thread, I have read articles now in every state with people happy with the prices they are getting.

So it will be interesting to see what Todd is saying becomes the actual truth, the cost sore to insure these people.

He finally got another Job, no insurance, but when you're 60 and lose your job it's rough.

Good to hear. I think it sucks when anyone loses a job regardless of age.

I do. You see, some of us make too much money to qualify for free stuff. So, If we choose not to have insurance and go to the doctor, we pay cash. It's not that hard. It's what I've been doing.

Does anyone here have car insurance? Do you have the minimum policy or the premium policy? Do you use it every year? We are already paying for the people that don't have any health insurance, that's why the flippin costs are so high. If the people that have insurance now didn't pay for the people that don't, there wouldn't be one hospital in this country that would stay open.

Saying that we won't get the care we need when we're old is totally paranoid thinking. If your in that bad of shape do you really want to live anyhow? Funny little thing, we all want to go to heaven but nobody wants to die. I did twice. Wasn't there long enough to notice if there where any archery shops though.

But if he didn't get that job ,he's still mandated. Of course his plan will be free but we are paying for that each and every month, regardless of the amount he uses the services.

This is what has me confused to be quite honest.

Where is the money coming from to run this system. The insurance companies according to the ky exchange web site are quoting the same high prices with big credits for many. That isn't going to be free. Someone will pay this difference.

There is no money to pay for it. That is why we are shut down right now. The OC supporters want to raise the debt ceiling so we can borrow more money from China to help cover the expenses of yet another program that our country in no way needs.

I understand his point. I also understand that this used to be a free country where a man was allowed to make decisions for himself.

What woman cannot make their own choice?:busted:

Guess what you live in a society where your actions or neglect cost others in this society here money. Can anyone here guarantee they will never need health insurance? That's the point of insurance to be there when you need it.

That is easy to say when you do not have $250k in medical bills sitting in your lap.

What do you care what he can or can't afford? Is it a jealousy thing? People that can't afford medical problems don't like the people who can?

It's HIS problem if he goes in and walks out with a huge bill. The State does not step in and save the middle and upper class. You are on your own. It's his risk.

It becomes the tax payers problem when he defaults on that bill. Or the doctor reduces the price because of it.

But atleast in that case, it is a few instances where we pay, not everyone, like now with those enrolled in obamacare.

I've said for years that people need to quit buying insurance for the sniffles and only buy it for major medical. But now that is going through the roof.

I've never defaulted on a bill. Why wouldn't they just do a wage garnishment? I don't understand how private citizens get stuck paying a bill that another private citizen racked up. This isn't soviet Russia.
