I just had new strings and cables put on my bow. I was going to have them lengthen the draw length from 29 1/2 to 30" but completely forgot. I haven't resighted in yet but they did tune it. The bow is a PSE Stinger and the draw length is adjustable without need of a press, simple as moving a pin in the module and adjusting the stop.

Main concern is what all it will have an effect on. My peep could actually come down another 1/8-1/4", not sure if it somehow moved when they tied it in or not. Wondering if this is something that I can do myself with negligible effects or will several things need adjusting and better to take back to the shop and have done. D loop, kisser, leaches and such.

    Thanks for the help

One thing you will have to do for sure is re-tune. You just changed a significant part of the equation.

Thanks, that's kinda what I figured but couldn't find the definitive answer in my searches. I'll shoot it as is for a week or two and if I think it needs lengthened take it in and let the pros do it the right way. Shouldn't cost too much more.

    Thanks again

well an easy fix would be to put a bigger string loop on to make that 1/2 inch up.

If it were a full inch I'd agree fully with GFY but 1/2" isn't a huge adjustment. You may get away with not having to retune. An added bonus is that lengthening the draw has the effect of lowering your peep so you might fix that issue at the same time. One thing I can say with certainty is that putting a longer loop on is not a fix to the problem of too short a draw length. It's like putting duct tape on a leaking fuel hose; it might get you home but it's not fixing the problem. If you honestly need 1/2" longer draw then by all means change it. Just be aware that it's better to shoot too short than too long of a draw, especially for hunting.

I'd say go ahead and change it yourself and see what happens. You still need to tune the bow anyway. A shop can set a bow up for you and rough it in but only you can truly tune the bow. The person shooting the bow has to be the one shooting it when it is being tuned.

Thanks, I'll try lengthening it this weekend. Haven't had a chance to shoot it much due to work.

That was my main hope, that I could get away with lengthening it and getting the peep a little lower without having to have the whole set-up redone.
